Meet some birds of prey

       Come meet some local birds at a program on Wednesday July 31 at

3 PM.  A representative from the Houston Audubon Society will bring various birds and help us learn to recognize them by sight and sound.

Make your own makeup -Teen program

Join tweens and teens as you make homemade beauty products, using all natural ingredients from your home pantry.  Make something for yourself or as a gift.  Tuesday July 30 at 3 PM next door at the Senior Center.

        For Tweens and Teens age 10 years and up

Irish dancers at the library

  Irish dancers from O'Maoleidigh School of Irish Dance, in Bellaire, will entertain everyone at the library on Wednesday July 24 at 3 PM.  You'll see dancers in costume performing dances and showing us the basics of Irish dance.

Butterfly mobile craft

   Children will enjoy making a hanging butterfly mobile at the library Tuesday

July 23 at 3 PM.  You can stick assorted paper butterflies to a plastic spiral to decorate your room at home.  All supplies are provided.

Australia craft program Wednesday

Australia is the theme for 4 crafts for children to create on Wednesday July 17 at 3 PM.  We will have 4 stations upstairs for children to create and decorate a rain stick, sun visor, boomerang and a kangaroo figure.  All supplies are provided.

Come and create some fun items for summer play.

The ferrets are coming !

   The ferrets are coming next Wednesday, July 10 at 3 PM.  You don't want to miss learning about these great animals and watching their silly attempts to escape from a paper bag or race through a tube.  At the end of the program, you'll get a chance to hold one of the ferrets and meet them up close and personal.  They LOVE meeting new friends.

 

The program will be next door at the Senior Center auditorium.

Dinosaurs in Houston ?

   Elephants in Houston ?  Dr. Neal Immega is going to tell us about the elephants and other dinosaurs who roamed the area thousands of years ago which we now call home.  There will be artifacts to see, interesting facts and lots of fun.  The program will be next Wednesday July 3 at 3 PM, upstairs in the Library.

All aboard ! Model trains at the Library

  Robert Barnett - from Houston Area Live Steamers - will visit the Library next Wednesday June 26 at 3 PM.  He will tell us about the big part trains played in Houston's history and show various model trains.

 

The Houston Area Live Steamers have a scale model train setup out at Zube Park.  Families can picnic there and ride model trains.  Go to their website for more information, schedule and map to the park.  http://www.hals.org/

 

Birds show off at the Library

  Louis the parrot helped children recycle aluminum cans at the Downtown Aquarium  "Built for Survival" program Wednesday.  Children were treated to seeing a parrot, macaw, cockatoo, vulture and a skink.  All these animals have adapted over the centuries to survice.

 

 

YA program for teens

  Like a totally 80's party for Teens

 

Tweens and Teens  are invited to a library program exploring the feel, sights and sounds of the 80's on Tuesday June 18 at 3 PM.  This program is specifically for teens ages 10 and up.  It will be in a room next door at the Senior Center.
