Crosby Branch Now Open on Wednesdays

Open SignFor years, the Crosby Library has been closed on Wednesdays, but no more!  The library is now open every Wednesday from 10 am to 6 pm. Our other days will remain the same, giving you six days a week to come and enjoy your local library.

Teen STEM Engineering Challenge

BridgeCalling all Teens! Come and test your engineering skills and take the STEM Challenge! How tall a tower can you build using only aluminum foil? How strong a bridge can you build using only straws, yarn and masking tape? Find out this Friday, June 24 at 4:00 pm. This program is for teens only! Kids under the age of 12 will get their chance to try on Monday, June 27 at 4:00 pm.

Primary Runoff Election @ Crosby Branch Library

Vote clip artEarly Voting for the Primary Runoff Election will be held at the Crosby Branch Library from May 16 to May 20. This is a runoff for local candidates who did not secure at least 50% of the vote in the primary election held earlier this year. The polls will be open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, even when the library is closed. We will continue to offer story times, computer classes and book club in the library during the election.

Dan Parsons, President of Better Business Bureau, to Speak at Friends Meeting

Dan Parsons photoThe public is invited to attend the annual meeting of the Friends of the Crosby Branch Library on Monday, April 25, at 6:30 pm in the meeting room. Guest speaker Dan Parsons, President of the Better Business Bureau of Greater Houston and South Texas, will talk about both wise charitable giving and the problem of senior fraud. He will also open the floor for questions. Come join us for this lively and informative event.

     Tuesday, Feb. 16 - Friday, Feb. 19     8:00 am - 4:30 pm

     Saturday, Feb. 20                                   7:00 am - 7:00 pm

     Sunday, Feb. 21                                     1:00 pm - 6:00 pm

New! LEGO WeDo Robotics

LEGO RobotsDo you enjoy LEGOs? Are you interested in computers? Then we have a new program just for you! On Monday, February 8 at 4:00 pm we will build a LEGO model and then make it move using Scratch computer coding. No coding experience is necessary.

Participation is limited to 12 kids, aged 8-12. Sign up here or register at the front desk at the library.

New! Coloring to the Classics

Stained Glass FlowerCurious about the new adult coloring trend? Then come to the library on Monday, January 25 at 4:00 pm and give it a try! Relax and have fun coloring while listening to classical music. All materials will be provided and the program is free and open to the public.

picture of laptopIs learning more about computers on your list of New Year's resolutions?  Then come join us for free computer classes! Classes for adults are every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Topics this month include Basic Windows, Basic Internet and Free Email.

Holiday Book Sale This Weekend

Bells with holly and ribbonThe Crosby Friends of the Library will be having a book sale Friday, December 4, 1 - 6 pm and Saturday, December 5, from 10 - 5 pm.  Hundreds of gently used books, CDs, DVDs and more will be available at great, low prices! Come and check it out in the meeting room.  All proceeds benefit the Crosby Branch Library.
