Get Caught Reading Month

Get CaughtMay is “Get Caught Reading Month,” a nationwide campaign supported by the Association of American Publishers to remind people of all ages how much fun it is to read. Remember, home and school aren’t the only places you can read.  You could get caught reading on your lunch break, in the waiting room at the doctor’s or dentist’s office, on a Metro bus, on an airplane or just about any place.  No matter where you read, what your read, or whether you prefer paper, electronic, or audio books, your library has you covered!

April & Shakespeare

ShakespeareAs far as I can tell, no one has ever declared April to be International Shakespeare Month, but I think they should.  Most people agree that he was the most important playwright in the history of the English language.  He is thought to have been born around April 23, 1564, and he died April 23, 1616.  In case you would like to honor him by reading some of his plays this month, I’ve done some research and found that many people think that Shakespeare’s best-loved tragedies are Romeo&nbs

• Say something nice to the library staff,
• Make a donation to the Friends of the Library,
• Volunteer to become a library volunteer, and/or
• Lobby your state and local officials for increased library funding!
We appreciate your support.

Avoid Standing in Line!

Self checkoutYou don't have to wait in line for a staff member to check out your items for you. If all you want to do is check out, you can do it yourself at one of these computers. They are easy to use and quite helpful during our busier times when lines are long. If you want to be shown how to use them, just let any member of our staff know. We would be glad to help.
