In honor of Black History Month, we will be showing an independent movie from the 1960's, about the struggles of Black life in America. The movie was shot at the height of the Civil Rights movement. Ivan Dixon (later of Hogan's Heroes) plays a railroad worker who settles down to marry a preacher's daughter (jazz singer Abbey Lincoln), only to find that the system is rigged against him.
We will show the movie on Thursday, February 25th at 11 a.m. Refreshments will be served!
Call West University Library at 713-668-8273, if you would like to find out the title of the film.
