Everybody has seen a magic show, but seldom do you get the chance to see a magician reveal the secrets to his tricks. Children had the opportunity to see how Mr. Immega works his magic, and even had the opportunity to try out some sleight of hand techniques!
The theme of this year's Summer Reading Program has been trains, and everyone had a great time last Wednesday partiicipating in train related games. We had relay games of coal toss, pin the wheels on the train, and hula hoop train! Toot, toot!
As always, the ferrets stole the show at their annual appearance at West University Library. Children learned interesting facts about ferrets and how to care for them, and were even allowed to hold them. The ferrets enjoyed their time on center stage, although I'm sure they enjoyed a good nap after the program!

Both staff and children enjoyed themselves on our pizza dough day. Pizza was stretched, tossed, and dropped, but in the end everyone ended up with a couple of freshly baked slices for our efforts. A fun time was had by all!
Meet several types of mammals up close at a West University Library program on Wednesday, July 7 at 3 PM. The Traveling Naturalist will bring an assortment of animals including an opossum and flying squirrel. This program is for children ages 5 - 12 years.
On Tuesday, June 22 at 3 PM, Dominos Pizza will entertain the audience with pizza trivia and dough twirling tricks. This program has an audience limitation. Come to the West University Library early to secure your spot for this fun-filled program. Starting at 2 PM, tickets will be issued to the first 70 children - ages 5 to 12 years .
The Traveling Naturalist will present a children's program on vertebrates at 3 PM on Wednesday June 16 at the West University Library! See examples of a reptile, mammal, bird and amphibian. This program is for children ages 5 -12 years.
HoneyDew the Clown will kick off our summer reading program, on June 9th, at 3pm. There will be lots of clown fun with the addition of some small, furry animals for the children to pet! The program is intended for children ages 5 to 12 years.
