FREE Spanish language classes @ Kingwood Library

Kingwood Library offers free Spanish-language classes. We meet in the 2nd floor conference room. After a hiatus, our intermediate class on Tuesdays from 11:30 AM - 1 PM is available once again. The beginner class meets on Thursdays from 6-8 PM. Join us!

 

Adult Nutrition Classes @Kingwood Library

#KingwoodLibrary is pleased to offer a series Adult Nutrition Classes on Thursdays beginning May 23rd. Join Ana Hernandez of Texas A&M Agrilife Extension in the Meeting Room for this expanded food and nutrition education program. Through this series, you will explore how to:

• Cook more meals and snacks at home
• Eat more fruits and vegetables
• Be more active with your family
• Reach and/or stay at a healthy weight
• Save money on groceries
• Control portion size
• Have more energy
• Keep food safe

There is no charge to participate! No registration required.

Genealogy: Research Over My Shoulder - A Genealogy Case Study

Sometimes you learn more by watching someone do the thing you want to do. In this genealogy class, Devon will walk you through the process she followed to answer the question, "Who are Winfield's Parents and how do I clean up his family tree?" Join us on Wed 5/15 from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM in the Computer Lab.

Adobe Creative Cloud at Kingwood Library

When it comes to software, Kingwood Library has you covered. We have recently subscribed to the Adobe Creative Cloud family of apps. This gives you access to Acrobat, Character Animator, Illustrator, Lightroom, Photoshop and more. With an Adobe account you are able to work on creative projects, edit photos, use fonts or stock pictures within the app. There are tutorials to learn how to use the different apps.

To use this software, you will need to book one of our four study rooms. Your first day's booking would be for two hours with a third hour option depending on availability and you may book up to seven days in advance. You can book a study room online or by calling the library at 832-927-7830.

Stress & Wellness Mini Series Part 1

Kingwood Library is featuring a free mini-series on Stress & Wellness. Join Physical Therapist Sara Gilmore for this event. Class 1 on “How to deal with stress of your day to day life" will meet on Monday 5/13 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM in the Meeting Room. No registration required.

Need a break from the hustle & bustle? Stop by the Meeting Room @ Kingwood Library on Thurs 5/9 at 2 PM for an Adult Coloring Program. Join us for Coffee, Coloring & Conversation. We have plenty of coloring pages & pencils but feel free to bring your favorites.
