Group Travel: Let's take a Trip!

Whether you are planning a travel club or a trip to a family reunion, join us on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 10 a.m. for a cup of coffee. Carolyn Monroe, a Road Scholar Ambassador, will be here. She will help you create unique and valuable ways to make your next trip exciting and fun!

Getting Back on Track Financially After a Loss or a Divorce

On Tuesday, February 14th, Brenda Banks of Merrill Lynch will present a free seminar at Kingwood Library on "Getting Back on Track Financially After a Loss or a Divorce" from 12-1:30 PM in the Meeting Room.

The presentation will cover how to set up an objective review of your finances, stay socially involved, consider a physical checkup, making house decisions carefully, and other points to consider. No registration is required.

Children's Weekly Run-Down


CHILDREN’S WEEKLY RUN-DOWN! Happy Valentines! Join us this week on Thursday the 16th of February @ 4 PM for our World Tour Book Club to explore different countries and their traditions and stories.

We will be having a special Gardening Club program next Monday, the 20th. The Kingwood Garden Club is excited to host a special activity full of possibility! If you like crafts, this is the place to be. Space is reserved for 20 students, and the theme will be frogs. Registration begins this Monday, the 13th @ 9 AM.

Our Story times continue as normal! Be here for Toddler Time** on Tuesday @ 10 AM and @ 10:30 AM, Preschool Storytime on Tuesday @ 2 PM, and Infant Lapsit Storytime @ 11:15 AM on Tuesday and @ 11 AM on Thursday. We also have our Family Storytime presented on Saturday @ 10:30 where you can enjoy stories and a craft!

**Tickets required upon entry. Pick up your free ticket at the Children's Reference Desk before entering your story time. Tickets will be given to the first 30 children and their caregivers the day of the scheduled event.

Macro Photography Workshop at Kingwood Library


Photography up close- it's Macro Photography! Join the Kingwood Photo Club for an exciting and informative program on Macro Photography on Saturday, February 11th from 10:30 AM - 12:15 PM in the Meeting Room.

The class will cover techniques, subjects, and equipment to photograph the amazing and beautiful world right under our noses. The workshop is best for intermediate photographers who understand their cameras.

The program is free. Sign up is not required but helpful. If you wish, you may sign up with the Kingwood Photo Club to let them know number of attendees here.

Cancellation of Black History Month Program on 2/9/17

Kingwood Library patrons: the Black History Month program "Dreams and Hopes of the Slave: The Middle Passage to The Middle Class" has been cancelled. The program was to feature a guest speaker from Lonestar College on Thursday February 9th from 7-9 PM. I will let you know if and when this special presentation is rescheduled. Thank you for your understanding.

SAGE: 3-D TinkerCAD for Beginners: 2/7 @ 10 am


Adults, would you like to get experience with TinkerCAD? SAGE (Sharing and Gaining Experiences) is sponsoring 3-D TinkerCAD for Beginners at the Kingwood Library on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 10 a.m.  Beginners will be able to use a basic computer aided design applications to create an object file, convert it into a STL (STereoLithography) file, and save it to a flash drive. This free activity is open to all adults. Registration is required for this class!

Bonjour! French Language Classes Now at Kingwood Library


Do you have an interest in the French language? Want to learn French but not sure where to go? Look no further than the Kingwood Library. The library is now offering FREE French conversation and French grammar classes taught by native speakers on Thursday evenings.

French conversation meets from 5-6 PM and French grammar meets from 6-7:30 PM.  

The program is for adults.
