Sweet Evelina! It's Pelican Drawing at Aldine Library!

Join us at the Aldine Library on Thursday, October 1st at 4 PM as we kick off Gulf Coast Reads 2015 and this year's book selection: The Promise by Ann Weisgarber. We'll relive some of the music of the era by listening to a recording of Texas Dance-Hall tune "Sweet Evelina." Also, we will practice drawing pelicans- a sight commonly seen along the Texas Gulf Coast.

Come join us for fun and music!

Autumn is Approaching

The heat wave has diminished, kids are back in school, and football season is around the corner. Autumn is approaching. Stay tuned to our Aldine branch library online calendar for the latest on upcoming events during the months of September and October. A Fall Festival for kids, free haircuts for children, and some tasty treats for adults are on the horizon. Don't miss out.

Book a Haircut at Aldine Library!

The Aldine Library is teaming up with Greenspoint Barber College to offer FREE haircuts once a month. There's just one catch: kids have to read a story while they get their haircuts.  For more information about the Book-a-Haircut program, including dates & times, see the information desk.

Super Summer

The 2015 Summer Reading Program has come to an end. School will soon be starting. We here at the Aldine Library have had a super summer with our programs and events. We have had alot of super readers, too.  This little fellow's mother read him 100 books! His photo was posted to our super readers wall. Thanks to readers of all ages for making SRP 2015 so super.

Sizzling Summer

Does the summer heat got you beat? Come chill at the Aldine Library. We will be serving cold fruit and cool drinks to our patrons on Wednesday, August 19th at 5 PM. Don't miss out!

Thanks for a Job Well Done

We have had a super summer here at the Aldine Library. A superb team of volunteers have tirelessly been working behind the scenes to ensure a smooth library operation.  On Friday, July 24th, we hosted a lunch to honor our dedicated teen volunteers. Thanks for a job well done, guys! We appreciate all of your time and effort this summer.

Music, Fun, Dance, and Bubbles!

If you were at the Aldine Library on Wednesday afternoon of this week then you no doubt heard saw a plethora of bubbles floating about and surely heard an infectious bass beat that made you want to move. Bubble Parties Texas was on site for music, fun, and lots of bubbles! Kids grooved to the beat and also enjoyed participating in a Hula Hoop contest, a Limbo contest, and Mambo dance line around the library. Great fun for everyone!
