It's The Adventures of Crayons and How They Made Their Way Home!

Hey everyone! Come join us at the Aldine Branch Library this Saturday October 24th, 2015 from 11 am - 12 pm to listen to the adventures of crayons and how they made their way home! After the reading, all children will participate in an art-making activity inspired by the book. The Aldine ISD Curriculum & Instruction Department will be on site to read, facilitate, and monitor this session. The first 60 children in attendance will receive their very own copy of The Day the Crayons Came Home for their personal libraries. Don't miss out!

Teen Read Week 2015: Get Away At the Aldine Library


Teens, celebrate Teen Read Week 2015 at the Aldine Library! This year's theme is Get Away @ Your Library. Gather in the Teen Cube Area to watch beach party movies each day this week from 5-7 PM. Join us!

It's time for the Aldine Library Fall Festival!

It's time once again for the annual Aldine Library and the Aldine-Greenspoint YMCA Fall Festival! This year the festival will be held on Saturday, October 10th from 10 am - 12 pm. Come join us as we celebrate the Fall season with face painting, crafts, hair cuts, a moonwalk, popcorn, a pumpkin carving contest, costume contest, food (while supplies last), music, games. . . and more!  Don't miss it!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Volunteers Needed at Aldine Library!

Friends, are you interested in donating your time to volunteer at the Aldine Library? Are you 16 or older? We could use your help! We need volunteers not only after school and on Saturdays but also for some upcoming special events.

The Aldine Library and the Aldine-Greenspoint YMCA Fall Festival will be held on Saturday, October 10th from 10 am-12 pm. We need volunteers to help set up, to staff the event, and to take down.

Sweet Evelina! It's Pelican Drawing at Aldine Library!

Join us at the Aldine Library on Thursday, October 1st at 4 PM as we kick off Gulf Coast Reads 2015 and this year's book selection: The Promise by Ann Weisgarber. We'll relive some of the music of the era by listening to a recording of Texas Dance-Hall tune "Sweet Evelina." Also, we will practice drawing pelicans- a sight commonly seen along the Texas Gulf Coast.

Teen Hangs @ Aldine Library


Hey, Aldine Teens! Teen Hangs meets on Monday of each week from 3-5 PM in the library meeting room. You can play games, use laptops, and enjoy snacks. All teenagers and pre teens are welcome. Come join us!

Citizenship Classes Begin Monday, 9/14 @ Aldine Library

Citizenship Classes begin on Monday, September 14th at Aldine Library. The sessions will run from 6-7:30 PM. Please be advised that a basic knowledge of English is necessary to attend.  Attendance is limited. Sign up now.

General Eligibility Requirements:


1 -Be at least 18 years old at the time you file Form N-400
2 -Be a permanent resident (have green card) for at least 5 years
3– Demonstrate continuous residence in the United States for at least 5 years immediately before he date you file Form N-400
4– Show that you have been physically present in the United States for at least 30 months out of the 5 years immediately before the date you file form N-400

Happy Labor Day

Hello Aldine library friends! Labor Day is Monday, September 7th. We will be closed on Monday in observance of the holiday (however, we will be open regular hours on Saturday). The library will re-open on Tuesday, September 8th at 10 AM.

Autumn is Approaching


The heat wave has diminished, kids are back in school, and football season is around the corner. Autumn is approaching. Stay tuned to our Aldine branch library online calendar for the latest on upcoming events during the months of September and October. A Fall Festival for kids, free haircuts for children, and some tasty treats for adults are on the horizon. Don't miss out.
