Parents and children enjoyed learning about origami and creating different animals by folding paper. It was a fun-filled evening for everyone.

Tea: the Golden Treasure

May is Asian Pacific Heritage Month! We're celebrating at the Aldine LIbrary by gathering in the Meeting Room on 5/15 at 3:30 PM to watch a movie about about the importance of tea in the life and culture of Taiwan. Afterwards, we will enjoy drinking a pot tea and having some snacks. Come join us!

Monster Snacking

Kids, are you hungry? How about cyclops eyes or swampy s'mores? Does a giant squid sandwich tempt your tummy? These delicious dishes and more are available in A Monster Cookbook: Simple Recipes for Kids. The book provides instructions and step-by-step photos on how to make simple snacks with a monster theme. It's a ghoulish good time!

Holiday Schedule

In observance of the holidays, the Aldine Library will be closing at 5 PM on Thursday, April 17th. We'll be closed on Friday, April 18th and will reopen on Saturday, April 19th for regular hours. Happy Easter!

Feeling Good

New books are arriving at the Aldine Library! One of the new titles is Feeling Good Together by David D. Burns, MD. Dr. Burns is also the author of the bestseller Feeling Good: the New Mood Therapy. Both books deal with cognitive behavioral therapy, a form of treatment that explores patterns of thinking that lead to self-destructive actions. The idea is that in examining the beliefs that direct their thoughts, people can then modify their patterns of thinking to improve the way they cope with problems. Come take a look at these titles by Dr.
