It's Back!

Para Los Ninos at the Aldine Library

Calling all parents, grandparents and guardians! You requested and we delivered. That’s right. The Para Los Niños program is back at the Aldine Library and it’s better than ever. The Children’s Museum of Houston will be presenting the Para Los Niños workshop in English and Spanish from 11 am until 1 pm on the second Saturday of each month beginning November 12th. This is a free, fun-filled, family event. You don’t want to miss out. Clear your schedule, pack up the family and head to the Aldine Library. Seating is limited. See you there!

 

Fall Festival Fun

We had a great time at our Fall Festival held on Saturday, October 29th. It was such a success that we're thinking about doing it next year! Thanks to our partner organization, the Aldine-Greenspoint YMCA, for their support. Thank you to all the volunteers. There's no way we could done this without you!

Join us for the Aldine Library Fall Festival on Saturday, October 29th from 10 AM - 1 PM. Come enjoy face painting, a pumpkin carving contest, games, food and entertainment- free family fun for everyone! See you there! 

 

Fall into a book

Fall is finally here! We have set aside some Fall-related titles in our book display in the lobby of the Aldine Library. Let us know if you wish to check out one of these books. We would be glad to get one or more out for you. In the display case you will also see a flyer advertising our upcoming Fall Festival that will take place on Saturday, October 29th from 10 AM until 1 PM. Come take a look!

Flavor of Latin America

Hey kids! One week from today is our Flavor of Latin America program in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month!

Join us on Thursday, September 29th from 4:30-5:30 PM in the Meeting Room for some fun. We'll be making paper maracas, tortillas and listening to Latin music. See you then!

Summer Reading Program Numbers

How did the 2011 Summer Reading Program shape up at the Aldine Library? Here are the stats for our registrations:

 Adults: 289
 Kids: 2869
 Teens: 395

The Aldine Library had the highest registration totals of any Harris County Library branch in teen and kids!

Un Curso de Meditación

Junten con nosotros para celebrar el Mes de la Herencia Hispana en la Biblioteca de Aldine. ¿Se siente estresado? La Sra. Ginger Clark, profesor de la Universidad de las Américas en el estado de Puebla, México, ofrecerá una clase introductoria bilingüe sobre Vipassana, una técnica de meditación antigua. La clase estará en la Sala de reuniones en el sabado, 10 de septiembre a las 3 PM. Nos vemos allí!

Ms. Ginger Clark, an instructor at the Universidad de las Américas in the state of Puebla, Mexico, will offer a bilingual introductory class on Vipassana, an ancient meditation technique. The class will be held in the Meeting Room on Saturaday, September 10th at 3 PM. See you there!
