Children's Weekly Run-Down

CHILDREN’S WEEKLY RUN-DOWN! Join us this week on Thursday, the 11th of May, @ 4 PM for our World Tour Book Club to explore different countries and their traditions and stories.

Our Story times continue as normal! Be here for Toddler Time** on Tuesday @ 10 AM and @ 10:30 AM, Preschool Storytime on Tuesday @ 2 PM, and Infant Lapsit Storytime @ 11:15 AM on Tuesday and @ 11 AM on Thursday. We also have our Family Storytime presented on Saturday @ 10:30 where you can enjoy stories and a craft!

**Tickets required upon entry. Pick up your free ticket at the Children's Reference Desk before entering your story time. Tickets will be given to the first 30 children and their caregivers the day of the scheduled event.

Fun4Seniors at Mercer Botanic Gardens

On Tuesday 5/2/17, Kingwood Library staff joined seniors for a trip with Harris County Precinct 4's Senior Adult Program. Everyone gathered at Kingwood Library where they departed by bus for Mercer Arboretum and Botanic Gardens in Humble. Two guides met with the group and took everyone on a guided tour of the the grounds. Afterwards, participants gathered for lunch at the Potato Patch restaurant.

Fun4Seniors is for adults 50 years old and better and operated by Harris County Precinct 4's Senior Adult Program. For information about future trips, call the Precinct 4 Senior Adult Program at 281-893-3726 or check out their website.

Children's Day / Book Day at Kingwood Library

Saturday, April 29th is Children's Day/Book Day, commonly known as Día. Kingwood Library is celebrating with a special Aztec Princess Storytime at 10:30 AM. Express Theatre will tell the story of one of the world's most legendary civilizations with a bilingual presentation that features a time-traveling Aztec princess. Join us for this special event!

YMCA Healthy Kids Day

Kingwood Library was at the annual YMCA of Greater Houston Healthy Kids Day on Saturday, April 22nd, 2017. Parents and children signed up for library cards. Kids also enjoyed making soccer finger puppets and engaging in a soccer match on a makeshift "field."

This week we will be celebrating Dia De Los ninos/libros at our Family Storytime presented on Saturday @ 10:30 with the Children's Express Theatre! A bilingual presentation, this story time will feature a time-traveling Aztec princess.

Legos!

Mr. Vincent Knight of TexLUG (Texas Lego User Group) visited the Kingwood Library for a teen program on April 18th. The creative young adults at the meeting assembled various items with the Legos that Mr. Knight brought including ships, cars, swords, and an X-wing Starfighter. The teens were allowed to take their creations home.

Easter Holiday Hours at Kingwood Library

The Kingwood Library will be closing early on Thursday, April 13th (at 5 PM). The library will remain closed Friday, April 14th through Sunday April 16th in observance of Easter. We will open for regular hours on Monday, April 17th.

As a reminder our digital services are available 24 / 7.
