Super Summer

The 2015 Summer Reading Program has come to an end. School will soon be starting. We here at the Aldine Library have had a super summer with our programs and events. We have had alot of super readers, too.  This little fellow's mother read him 100 books! His photo was posted to our super readers wall. Thanks to readers of all ages for making SRP 2015 so super.

Sizzling Summer

Does the summer heat got you beat? Come chill at the Aldine Library. We will be serving cold fruit and cool drinks to our patrons on Wednesday, August 19th at 5 PM. Don't miss out!

Thanks for a Job Well Done

We have had a super summer here at the Aldine Library. A superb team of volunteers have tirelessly been working behind the scenes to ensure a smooth library operation.  On Friday, July 24th, we hosted a lunch to honor our dedicated teen volunteers. Thanks for a job well done, guys! We appreciate all of your time and effort this summer.

Music, Fun, Dance, and Bubbles!

If you were at the Aldine Library on Wednesday afternoon of this week then you no doubt heard saw a plethora of bubbles floating about and surely heard an infectious bass beat that made you want to move. Bubble Parties Texas was on site for music, fun, and lots of bubbles! Kids grooved to the beat and also enjoyed participating in a Hula Hoop contest, a Limbo contest, and Mambo dance line around the library. Great fun for everyone!

Happy 4th!

Hello friends! The Aldine Library will be closed on Friday and Saturday of this week, July 3rd and 4th, in commemoration of Independence Day. We will open again on Monday, July 6th at 1 PM. We wish you and your family a happy and safe 4th.

Live Cow, Now!

On Thursday June 18th, a traveling milking parlor featuring a live cow visited the Aldine Library. A truck pulled up to the parking lot with a trailer in tow and milked a cow as curious children looked on. Thanks to Southwest Dairy Farmers for coming to the Aldine Library!

It's Still On!

Due to the inclement weather this week, we did not have our National Caribbean Heritage Month Program this afternoon. However, we have rescheduled our event celebrating the cuisine of Belize. We will be having sample dishes from this Caribbean country on Wednesday, June 24th at 5 PM. See you there!
