It’s that time of year again… for tax assistance, that is. Beginning Monday, Feb. 2, 2015, and every Monday and Friday through Apr. 13, 2015, the AARP volunteers will be at the Maud Marks Library assisting the elderly and low-income individuals with tax help. Be sure to bring all the necessary paperwork. The filing is done on-line. Doors open at 10 am and close at 2 pm, but you may want to come early because it’s a first come first serve basis. For questions about this service call the library at 281-492-8592. But, for tax information, instruction booklets and forms, the IRS website is the best place to visit. This year, HCPL branches will only carry the three basic forms: 1040, 1040A and 1040EZ.
