Baskets and Bunnies

The City of Katy will be hosting Baskets & Bunnies a the Katy City Park on Saturday, March 31st, 9:00AM-12:00PM. 

There will be a bounce house, a petting zoo, crafts and pictures with the Easter Bunny! Don't forget your Easter baskets, as Park Fellowship North will be sponsoring an Easter Egg Hunt!

Holiday Closures

The Katy Library will be closed the following days for the Easter holiday:

Thursday, March 29: closing early at 5pm

Friday, March 30:  CLOSED

Saturday, March 31: CLOSED

We will reopen regular hours on Monday, April 2, at 10:00am.   Have a great holiday!

Katy Community Campout

The Spring Katy Community Campout at the Katy VFW Park is March 9-10, 2018!  This is a free event for the community and families with children of all ages are welcome.  Enjoy the park, participate in activies and enjoy a free hot dog cookout and movie under the stars!

Please register to participate with your family at Parks & Recreation Department at City Hall located at 901 Avenue C, Katy, TX 77493 by 5:00pm on Wednesday, March 7, 2018.

Early Voting at Katy Library

Come out to the Katy Library to early vote in the primaries!  All voters registered in Harris County, from either party, are eligible to vote at the library or any other Harris County polling location during early voting. 

The schedule for early voting:

February 20-February 23: 8:00am-4:30pm

                     February 24: 7:00am-7:00pm

                     February 25: 1:00pm-6:00pm

       February 26-March 2: 7:00am-7:00pm

Medicare Workshop

  Professional Insurance Educators will be at the Katy Branch library conducting a Medicare Workshop on Thursday, February 1st, at 2:00pm.  Join us to find out about the new changes to Medicare and get any questions that you may have answered by an expert!

Little Buddies needed for Spring Book Buddies Session

 

It's time to sign up your little ones for our Book Buddies program!

Book Buddies is a free program that brings children and adults together to share the joy of reading. It pairs trained adult volunteers (Big Buddies) with children in K-3rd grades (Little Buddies.) For 10 weeks, the Buddies meet once a week for 45 minutes of shared reading.

Our meetings will be Mondays at 5:00pm. The dates for the program are 2/5, 2/12, 2/19, 2/26, 3/5, 3/19, 3/26, 4/2, 4/9, and 4/16.

Storytime Takes a Holiday Break

There will be no story times offered at the Katy Library during the holiday break.  We will resume our regular story time schedule with Baby Time on January 8, 2018 at 10:15am.  

 

Our regular story time hours are as follows:

Baby Time (birth-18months)          Mondays, 10:15am

Toddler Time (18months - 3yrs)    Tuesdays, 10:15am and 11:00am

Preschool Story Time (3-5yrs)      Thursdays, 10:15am and 11:00am

Pages by the Pint Book Club December

 Pages by the Pint Book Club will take place at No Label Brewery on Tuesday, December 19th at 8:00pm as we discuss "Missoula" by Jon Krakauer. Join us for beer, books, and bonding.   Please bring your own lawn chair to the book club as seating is limited. Outside food and non-alcoholic drinks are welcome. See you then!

Homework Help

 Need help researching your paper? Don't know how to get started? Stuck on that math or science problem? We can help!  The Katy Library is offering a weekly Homework Help session, Wednesday nights, at 5:00pm. Help will be available for basic homework issues and questions. We can also help go over your child's homework with them. These sessions are intended to assist children and teens with homework questions. If we don't know the answer, we will try our best to find it!
