HALF-PRICE SCIENCE FICTION BOOK SALE

The Barbara Bush Library Friends operate a Used Book Store just inside the library. It is open during the day seven days a week. During November, they are selling their large collection of science fiction books at half-off the already low bargain prices. This means that hardback science fiction is $1.50; large paperbacks are $1.00; and regular paperbacks are only $.50. How can you beat that!!

Summary: Almost fifty years ago, Steinbeck hit the highways in a custom-built camper with his French poodle, Charley, and traveled the country exploring small-town, back-roads Americana.

Mrs. Barbara Bush Visits the Library

Mrs. Barbara Bush with Children's Services StaffMrs. Barbara Bush made a surprise visit today to the Barbara Bush Branch of Harris County Public Library to view the mural on the wall created by artist Pat Rawlings. The 7 ft. by 31 ft. mural combines the natural beauty of the Cypress Creek area with the local history of Klein, Texas, and with classic characters from children's literature. Mural by artist Pat RawlingsMrs. Bush appears in the mural along with library staff members and many young library customers.
