Teachers Needed!

At the Maud Marks Library, we are so grateful for all our volunteers.  We have them shelve books, do data entry, scan books, and more.

Right now, the Maud Marks Library needs ESL tutors.  We need people willing to teach adults English on a volunteer basis once a week for at least 9 months.  You don't need to be able to speak another language to teach ESL, in fact, we would prefer if you didn't!  All you need is a willingness to help new immigrants become acclimated with the American way of life.

We will be hosting a tutor training session on Saturday, September 3 at 9 AM.  There is no charge for the session or the training materials.  We'll even feed you lunch!

Please consider joining our very active and important ESL community.

Calling all Teens

Oh, the weather outside was frightful... but now it's so delightful!

Remember that Mock SAT we were supposed to have at the Maud Marks Library back in February?  It got canceled due to the ice and (supposed) snow that week.  Not to fret though, we have it rescheduled!

Come visit us this next Saturday, April 2 at 12 PM- 4 PM to take a fake SAT under REAL testing conditions.  Now, to explain further, it is a REAL SAT test you are taking under REAL SAT conditions, it just won't count for or against you when it comes time to apply for college.

Then, the following Saturday, April 9 at 1 PM, return to the library to receive your score and tips on how you can do better.  This way, you can do your best on one of the most important test you will ever take.

If you were already registered for the February SAT, don't worry, a spot has been saved for you and you can just come this time around.
