DUE TO FLOOD DAMAGE, KINGWOOD BRANCH LIBRARY WILL BE CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

The Kingwood  Branch Library took on about four feet of water during the storm. We will be closed for the foreseeable future. Please do not return your library books to the Kingwood Brandh Library. They are much safer at your homes. No late fees will be assessed for the books. At this time Harris County Public Library System is assessing all branches and will issue updates on where you can return library books.

 

Book Discussion: Mon. 8/21 @ 7 p.m.

Stop by the library on Monday, August 21, 2017 @ 7 p.m. for a lively book discussion on "The Dressmaker" by Kate Alcott.

The book is about Tess, an aspiring seamstress, thinks she's had an incredibly lucky break when she is hired by famous designer Lady Lucile Duff Gordon to be a personal maid on the Titanic's doomed voyage. On board, Tess catches the eye of two men, one a roughly-hewn but kind sailor, and the other, an enigmatic Chicago millionaire. But on the fourth night, disaster strikes

Tuesday, 8/1 @ 10:00 AM - Save A Life!

Do you want to be part of a community to save and sustain a life one donation at a time?  Yes! You can by donating to provide a safe supply of blood, blood components and other related services.  Commit to life and join the Kingwood Library & the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 10 a.m. in the Meeting room.

Tues. 7/25 @ 10 AM: SPCA Visits The Library

The summer months can be uncomfortable for pets and people. By working together on a local and global level, we can affect real change and build a better world.  Join Lisa Tynan from the Houston SPCA on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. for a pet talk presentation about taking care of our pets.  For more information, contact the Library at 281-360-6804.

Tomorrow! Create-A-Design: 3-D Print Open Lab

Do you have a design in mind? Join us for 3-D open lab using the Web-based program TinkerCad. Class participants 3-D design prints are free. For more information, please contact Adult Services at 281-360-6804.

**This class is for adults 18 and up. If you are interested in 3-D Classes for teens and children, please call the library and ask for Children or Teen Services.

Did You Miss the "Get Clean" Program?

The SAGE Program  held a "Get Clean:Safety Tips on Household Cleaners" presentation on July 11, 2017.  The live presentation featured informational tips and methonds on the safety use of household cleaning products.  Special guest Anne Ferrell and Rita Daniels shared with attendees information on the toxins that may enter the home using various brand cleaners. In addition, the presenters shared a government website to look up toxicity information.  If you have questions about your products you are currently using, visit https://householdproducts.nlm.nih.gov/  Attendees also participated in a "hands-on" game creating a greater awareness of household products that are harmful to the environment.

Tomorrow: Get Clean-Toxic Household Products! @ 10 AM

Join us!  For insightful information about household chemical products, that may be harmful to your health.  Special guest Anne Ferrell & Rita Daniels will give tips on how to avoid toxins in the home on Tuesday, July 11, 2016 at 10 a.m. in the computer lab, 2nd floor.

3-D Printing for Adults! 6/24 @ 10:30 AM

Join us!   Along with Norma DrePaul from LoneStar-North Harris for a 3-D printing and Scanning Demo on Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM.  We will have our 3D printer available for you to view up close a live demo. In addition, you can create your very own design for printing.  

However, If you are already a 3-D enthusiast, here is an opportunity to come and share what you are working on!  This program is reserved for adults 18 years and up.
