Looking for something for the children to do in January? Freeman will have several programs to keep children occupied this month. We will resume our normal storytime schedule starting Monday, January 7, 2013. Here is our storytime schedule:
If you're looking to get away from crowded malls this holiday season, join us in the Children's Department where your young ones can enjoy some good old-fashioned fun playing with blocks. If blocks don't appeal to your child, we have other activity tables that children will find fun and challenging. Librarian, Elizabeth Hunt, works hard each month to find or create a variety of activities that will interest children as well as their adults. For December, we have a blocks table, a spelling table, and a puzzle table. Additionally, we have an ever-popular puppet stage with a collection of hand puppets that budding puppeteers will enjoy.
Looking for something sweet and tasty to do for the holidays? Join us for Freeman's Annual Gingerbread House decorating program. This is a free program. All ingredients will be provided - milk cartons, graham crackers, icing, and lots of goodies to put on the houses! It is recommended for children 3 to 12 years old.
Santa Claus will be making his annual visit to Freeman Library tonight from 5:30-7 pm. He will be greeting good little girls and boys and listening to their wish lists. Parents are welcome to bring a camera to take a picture of their child visiting with Santa Claus.

They are free and available from the Kids Information Desk starting thirty minutes before the program. The tickets will be numbered and the children will be called up in numeric order to meet Santa Claus.

Looking for some free fun for you and your baby? Join us this Friday, November 30 from 10-11:00 am in the Children's Activity Space for Baby Playtime. This program is designed for babies from birth to 18 months old. We will have educational toys, board books, bubbles and lots of laughs. No tickets are required for this program. Looking for some craft fun for the children during the Thanksgiving holiday break? Join us on Tuesday, November 20 at 2:30 pm as we put together a paper turkey that you can use for a table decoration or hang up on a wall. This program is recommended for children 4-12 years old. Tickets are required. They are free and available at the Kids Information Desk starting 30 minutes before the program. 
The Toddler Time and Book Babies storytimes will meet only one time next week during Thanksgiving Break. Toddler Time will be held on Monday, November 19 at 11:15 am. Toddler Time is for children 18 months to 3 years old. Book Babies will be held on Wednesday, November 21 at 11:15 am. Book Babies is for children newborn to 18 months old. However, Preschool Storytime will be held at its regular time of 1:30 pm on Tuesday, November 20 and Wednesday, November 21. Preschool Storytime is for children 3-5 years old. Tickets are required for each storytime. They are free and given out from the Kids Information Desk starting 30 minutes before each program. 
Join us for Toddler Time and Preschool Storytime on November 12-14 as we feature books, songs, and an activity about Diwali. We'll learn about some of the ways that children in India and other countries celebrate this holiday.
