No Paint, No Problem!

There’s one more Web 2.Yo! class left for the teens this summer. It’s been a blast. Checkout the painting I made with one of the many cool Web sites we’ve explored. It is a site where you can paint in the style of Jackson Pollock.

Want to know more about it? If so, then just come by and we’ll show it to you and a whole bunch more. Once SRP is over the class will be moving to a different day and time. We’ll keep you posted on any changes.

The Library is a Magical Place

Our young customers had a wonderful time during a visit from magician, Julian Franklin, last Friday. Not only did Mr. Franklin perform some amazing card tricks he also shared the secrets of pulling some of them off on others. After some practice the students were able to perform some magic of their own. Everyone was so excited that they checked out all of the branch’s magic books immediately after the program. Now that’s a disappearing act we like to see.Kids With Playing Cards

Aldine Discovers the Deep Sea

Boy in Deep Sea Diving GearThe Aldine Branch customers had a wonderful time as they visited with experienced diver and author, Jacqui Stanley. Mrs. Stanley covered a number of topics including what is needed to become a marine biologist, the current oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, and the equipment needed for deep sea exploration. She even brought her own diving equipment to share. Students also had a chance to experience what they would look like in some of that expensive gear!
