So don’t miss out and take a second to see their work. You’ll be amazed by just how creative the teens got.

Scholarship Search Seminar at Aldine

We’ll show you sites dedicated to providing information on finding various scholarships for school. In the spirit of Hispanic Heritage Month there will even be a focus on opportunities that celebrate a culture.

Haven’t even decided where you want to go to college or what to study? No problem. There are plenty of resources we can show you that will help. Just show up at 4PM ready to find some great sites and we’ll introduce you to them. See you there!

Web 2.Yo! is Coming Back!

It’s only a chance for teens to get together and discover some Web sites they’ve never seen before. We’ll look at sites that deal with music, movies and so much more. We will meet every Monday from 4pm to 5pm in the meeting room. See you there!

Get Your Game Fix Before the Summer is Over

A Makeup Day

Teen Applying MakeupGreat news! The Aldine Branch has an additional program to present this summer. Come and learn makeup tips with a professional makeup artist. Ladies of all ages are welcome. We will be in the meeting room July 7th at 3pm for the demonstration. See you there!

Aldine Teens Show Library Love in National Video Contest

Teens After Hearing About Thier 2nd Place Finish!The teens at the Aldine Branch have been very busy making videos. They even submitted an entry into the American Library Association's Why I Need My Library video contest. Over 150 groups took on the challenge of creating an original 1-3 minute video demonstrating why libraries are needed more than ever. Out of all of the groups the teens from Aldine took second place! Second place in a contest this big is very impressive. Great job guys!

See You at the Art Car Parade

Aldine's Fish Book CartSunday is the big day of the Houston Art Car Parade. Once again the Aldine branch will be there along with other HCPL branches. The parade runs from 1pm-3pm, so that gives you plenty of time to stop by our tent in the morning. You can see our cool art book carts up-close, participate in a craft, or even register for a library card! If you can't make it, then don't worry. We'll be tweeting the whole time. We're excited and hope to see you there!

Anime For Youth Meets for the Last Time Before Summer Break

With the final stretch of school in progress and the Summer Reading Program (SRP) just around the corner Anime For Youth will be meeting for the last time tomorrow, May 5th, from 3:30PM to 4:30PM. Don't worry though because the club plans to start up again once SRP ends.

The club will mark this final meeting by celebrating Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. All are welcome to visit, while Ryan shares his experiences of living over in Japan. Come see his pictures, listen to his stories, and ask him any questions that you may have.
