Volunteer Orientation

If you’re in high school and interested in volunteering at the Maud Marks Branch Library don’t forget to attend Volunteer Orientation tomorrow (Tuesday) at 7pm. Orientation is mandatory for all new volunteers. If you haven’t filled out an application yet you can pick one up from the reference desk or print one here.     

Hop on the Bookmobile!

The Digital Bookmobile is coming! Stop by the Maud Marks Branch Library on Wednesday, January 27 between noon and 6pm to learn more about downloading materials from the Harris County Library! The event is free and if you visit the Bookmobile you can register to win one of the MP3 players donated by Best Buy at 5340 Grand Parkway! 

Senior Moments: Funeral Planning

Funeral planning is an important part of life.  Find out what you need to know to plan your own funeral so that loved ones left behind do not have to make any guesses.  Seniors and mature adults are invited to join us at the Maud Marks Branch Library on Thursday, January 21 at 1pm as Bert Plocharski, an award winning monument designer, and Maurice Hanna, a family counselor specializing in end of life counseling, provide consumer information about funerals, cemetery plots, and more.

Lots for a Little!

The Friends of the Maud Marks Library are having a book sale at the library this Saturday, January 16 from 10 am to 5 pm. If you’re a member of the Friends or join before Friday you can also attend a special preview sale on Friday, January 15 from 6 pm to 8 pm!   Don’t forget, nothing costs over $1!!

 

It's Back . . .

Teen Time is back at the Maud Marks Branch Library! You can join us after school from 2:45 to 4pm for crafts on Mondays, computer classes on Tuesdays, a surprise activity on Wednesdays, movies on Thursdays, and games on Fridays. If you haven’t registered yet just fill out a short form when you come to your first session. See you there!

Books on the Go

Head over to the Maud Marks Branch Library on Wednesday, January 27 from 12pm to 6pm for the Digital Bookmobile!  Learn about the Harris County Public Library’s download service and check out some books to download to your computer or digital device.  It’s all free and you can register for prizes all afternoon.  Come one, come all!

Reindeer Games!

 

On Monday, December 14 the Express Children's Theatre performed ‘Rudolph’ for a large crowd of kids and parents. Stay tuned for more photos!

  

Rudolph is Coming!

Join us at the Maud Marks Branch Library for a special family storytime on Monday, December 14 at 6:30 pm.  The Express Children’s Theatre will be presenting ‘Rudolph’, a musical version about the world’s most famous reindeer! It’s sure to put you in a holiday mood!

Snowmen Spotted!

It may not snow often in Katy but the kids at the Maud Marks Branch Library sure know how to decorate a snowman!  This morning in storytime they decorated seasonal snowman hats.  If you missed the craft don't worry, you can make your own.
