Snowmen Spotted!

It may not snow often in Katy but the kids at the Maud Marks Branch Library sure know how to decorate a snowman!  This morning in storytime they decorated seasonal snowman hats.  If you missed the craft don't worry, you can make your own.

Share Your Holidays this Friday @ Maud Marks!

Maud Marks Branch Library is the main Katy site for the Share Your Holidays food drive! This Friday, December 4 you can drop off non-perishable food items anytime from 6 am to 6 pm, so stop by on your way to work or during the day.

Decisions, Decisions

Are you looking for another great book to read? Want an easy way to find books similar to your favorites? Then sign up for our ‘What Do I Read Next?’ class at the Maud Marks Branch Library this Thursday at 7 pm. Learn to use NoveList, an easy database where you can find books and keep lists of what you’ve read and what you would like to read.

Happy reading!

Reminder for Prospective Volunteers

Our next volunteer orientation at the Maud Marks Branch is tomorrow (November 10) at 7pm. It’s our last volunteer orientation for 2009 and you must attend orientation before you can begin volunteering. If you haven’t turned in your application yet you can turn it in then; remember that if you’re under 18 your parent or guardian needs to sign it too.

Up, Up, and Away

On Monday at Teen Time we made paper airplanes using directions from some of our books as well as some handy templates online that are marked for you! In case you missed it we have a variety of paper airplane books.

'Hansel and Gretel' Was a Hit!

On Monday young Maud Marks Library customers saw a live opera performance without even going downtown! The Houston Grand Opera’s ‘Opera to Go!’ performers presented ‘Hansel and Gretel’ on Monday, Oct. 12 for a crowd of around 60 school-aged children.

Extreme Pumpkin Makeover

Check out these before & after shots from our teen pumpkin painting craft at Maud Marks!

We’ll be painting pumpkins again at Teen Time on Monday, October 19 from 2:45-4pm. Please note that there is no Monday Teen Time on October 12 since Katy ISD is out that day.
