   The Gulf Coast Reads program may be winding down, but the fun at Katy Branch is still going strong. There’s one week left to complete our Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close-themed scavenger hunt! Come by the branch and pick up a map- then follow the clues for a chance to win some great prizes.

With the advent of beautiful fall weather, there’s no better time than the present to take your furry pal to the dog park on Franz Road, right next door to Katy Library. If you don’t have a dog yet, or Fido needs to brush up on his manners before he can go to the park, stop by Katy Library and peruse our resources for dog owners.

At 6pm on Wednesday, August 22, join the Katy Branch Library anime club for a special craft night- Perler bead Pixel Pals! Bring in a color printout of your favorite pixel picture or choose from one of the provided images, and make it into a patch, badge, or pendant. We’ll also be watching the movie Summer Wars. This program is for ages 12 and up.
