Take a tour of the building and see our new meeting room. Watch a slide program of how we are relevant in today's society with our programs in the library and in the community.

Hershel Glen Wooten, resident of Jacinto City and former Assistant Chief of the Jacinto City Police Dept., passed away on February 18th. Mr. Wooten was also a 25 year veteran of the Houston Firefighters and served with the Harris County Prec. 2 Constables. He established the Jacinto City Opry on 10323 Palestine. The Opry is Saturday from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm. Mr. Wooten was an active member of his community and attended City Council Meetings. He will be laid to rest in Cisco, TX.

The celebration of Chinese New Year begins today, January 29th, and ends February 20th. San Francisco, CA has the largest Chinese community and celebrates each lunar new year with a festival and parade. The celebration began in the 1860's as a way to educate the community about the Chinese culture. Each year, hundreds of thousands of people come out to celebrate the festival and parade. We're having our Christmas Open House tomorrow night, Dec. 2nd, at 6:30 PM. Jacinto City Mayor with Christopher Diaz will be us for a special Christmas Storytime. Everyone is invited to come and share the evening with us. You never know, Santa may make a guest appearance!
