End of Summer Reading Program Party! 3:00 pm Wednesday, August 7th

We're celebrating the end of the 2013 Summer Reading Program with a Finger Painting Party for all ages.  So come on in to the Meeting Room and join us for some painting fun!  We hope to see all of you at 3:00 pm.

Resident African American Poet Leon Thomas

Resident African American Poet Leon Thomas will be sharing some of his recent works and reflecting on past and present contributions of African Americans to American history in his program this Thursday, February 21st at 6:45 pm.  Please come and join us in our Meeting Room.

 

 

Holiday Story Time with Mayor Nunez, December 6th, 6:30 pm

We're having our annual Holiday Story Time with Mayor Nunez and special guest the Galena Park High School Choir, on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at 6:30 pm.  The program will be in our Meeting Room.  Hope you can come and join us!

JC Adult SRP Grand Prize Winner!

Jacinto City Branch Library is a Grand Prize winner location this summer!  Congratulations to Luciana Stockbridge!  Luciana loves to read and that libraries are a treasure trove.  She signed up for the Adult Summer Reading Program because she wanted to know how many books she was reading at a given time.  Luciana said that the program is a good way to encourage more people to read.  She will be participating next year.

JC Adult SRP Winner

This summer's Adult SRP winner is Ethel Smith.  Congratulations Ethel!  Ethel is a great-grandmother who loves to read and read to her children.  Libraries are one of her favorite places to go to.  Ethel signed up for the Adult Summer Reading Program because she thought it would be fun and how much she loves to read.  She enjoyed the program and seeing how much she was actually reading.  Ethel said she will participate next year.

It's Adult SRP Movie Night! July 26th

It's Adult SRP Movie Night at Jacinto City Library this Thursday, July 26, 2012 at 6:30 pm.  We'll be watching Midsomer Murders Hidden Depths in our Meeting Room.  We look forward to seeing you!

Opening with Harris County Commissioner Jack Morman on Wednesday, March 21st

Join Harris County Commissioner Jack Morman on Wednesday, March 21st at 10:30 am for a celebration of our newly renovated and expanded library.  Take a tour of the building and see our new meeting room.  Watch a slide program of how we are relevant in today's society with our programs in the library and in the community.

 

 

 

Hershel Glen Wooten, 1925-2012

Hershel Glen Wooten, resident of Jacinto City and former Assistant Chief of the Jacinto City Police Dept., passed away on February 18th.  Mr. Wooten was also a 25 year veteran of the Houston Firefighters and served with the Harris County Prec. 2 Constables.  He established the Jacinto City Opry on 10323 Palestine. The Opry is Saturday from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm.  Mr. Wooten was an active member of his community and attended City Council Meetings.  He will be laid to rest in Cisco, TX.
