Black History Program--"I Have a Dream" DVD

Come and join us for a Black History program tomorrow night at 6:30 pm.  We will be viewing Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech.  This program is open to adults and teens.

Special Guest for June 22nd Storytime

For our June 22nd storytime, we will have a special guest.  Our special guest is Jean Kuecher with the Marionette Playhouse.  She'll be doing a puppet show of favorite stories.  Come and join us for this program!

It's that time of year again!  The 2011 Summer Reading Program dates are June 3rd to August 6th this year.  Don't forget adults, we have a program for you too!  So don't wait, start signing-up for the program and watch our Branch Calendar for weekly events.

Bridge Over Troubled Water Presents: "Telling Amy's Story"

Celebration of Chinese New Year

The celebration of Chinese New Year begins today, January 29th, and ends February 20th.  San Francisco, CA has the largest Chinese community and celebrates each lunar new year with a festival and parade.  The celebration began in the 1860's as a way to educate the community about the Chinese culture.  Each year, hundreds of thousands of people come out to celebrate the festival and parade.  For more information go to

Christmas Open House

We're having our Christmas Open House tomorrow night, Dec. 2nd, at 6:30 PM.  Jacinto City Mayor with Christopher Diaz will be us for a special Christmas Storytime.  Everyone is invited to come and share the evening with us.  You never know, Santa may make a guest appearance!

Lead Poisoning Prevention Exhibit

In honor of Lead Poisoning Prevention Month, the Jacinto City Branch Library is hosting the Lead Poisoning Prevention Exhibit.  It is from the Harris County Public Health and Environmental Services (HCPHES).  The purpose of the exhibit is to help children and families become more aware of lead poisoning and how it can be prevented.  For further information to: or call 713-439-6369
