Veteran PTSD Awareness at Fairbanks Library

Hello Everyone. Join us in the meeting room at Fairbanks Library on Monday, November 6th at 6 pm for a presentation on Veteran PTSD Awareness by a representative from Camp Hope. Camp Hope is located here in the Fairbanks area and provides interim housing for our Wounded Warriors, veterans and their families suffering from combat related PTSD. Crochet and Knitting Circle at Fairbanks Library

Hello Everyone. Now that summer programming is near its end, the Crochet and Knitting Circle will be resuming its normal hours at 12:30-2:30 pm this coming Thursday, August 10th in the meeting room of the Fairbanks Library. This circle is open to all folks of all ages. Beginners are welcome, too! Please call us at 713-466-4438 for more information. Registration not required. See you there!

Adult Boardgamers Afternoon at Fairbanks Library

Hello Everyone. Join us at the library in the meeting room on Saturday, July 29 from 12 pm to 4:30 pm for an afternoon of boardgaming! The Houston Boardgamers will be providing a large variety of games, but you are welcome to bring a game as well as some friends! There is no need to register. Call 713-466-4438 for more information. Kids Café - Free Lunches for Kids

Hello Everyone. HCPL has partnered with the Houston Food Bank to provide free nutritious lunches to kids 18 and under at select branches during the summer. Fairbanks Branch will be serving every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 12:30-1:30 pm, from June 6th to August 10th in the meeting room. There is no need to register and all children under 18 qualify. Friends of Fairbanks Library Bi-Annual Book Sale

Hello Everyone! The Friends of the Fairbanks Library will be having its bi-annual book sale on Saturday, June 10 from 10 am to 3pm in the meeting room of the library.

They are also looking for volunteers to help set up the books sale on Friday, June 9 at 4 pm and then to take down afterwards on Saturday, June 10 at 3pm. If you would like to volunteer, please call us at 713-466-4438. 

MIX 96.5 Commit to Life Blood Drive at Fairbanks Library

Want to help save a life? Then come and donate blood with the Fairbanks Branch on Friday, May 26 from 10:30 to 3pm! We are partnering with MIX 96.5 and Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center to hold a blood drive! We will also be doing free face-painting and crafts for the kids while you're giving blood! We will be using the Houston Cy-Fair Lion's Club building located across from the library, next to the park, where Lions Club members will also be selling concessions and giving free vision screenings as well. You do not have to donate blood to receive a free vision screenings. Be sure to Eat, Drink and Have ID before coming! Free CPR Class at Fairbanks Branch

 

Hello Everyone. The Fairbanks Library will be hosting a free CPR/AED class in our meeting room on Tuesday, May 9 at 3:30-6:00 pm. Anyone 16 and over can sign up and you will be certified. The class will be taught by representatives from PartnERs Emergency Centers. You must call their facility at 832-230-1284 to sign up. The class can hold no more than 10 people so seats are limited.  You can also check out our Events Calendar for future CPR classes and other programs.

New Crochet and Knitting Circle at Fairbanks Library

Hello Fairbanks Community. Due to popular demand, we have brought back the crochet and knitting group. It starts Thursday, April 6th at 12:30 pm. So bring your current crochet and knitting projects and share your ideas with other enthusiasts! Don't be shy if you're coming alone or a beginner, we have an enthusiast on staff who will be there to greet and participate with you, too. This circle is open to all ages and there's no need to register. See you there!

Monday, 3/21 at 4-6pm - One on One help for iPads (reserve a 30 minute spot)
Tuesday, 3/21 at 4pm - Beginner Word 2013
Wednesday, 3/22 at 2pm - Beginner Internet
Saturday, 3/25 at 3 pm - Intermediate Excel 2013 (Our Beginner Excel class is a prerequisite)
