The History of Anime

Teens! Join us at the Fairbanks Library tomorrow, May 17th at 4:00 pm to celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month by learning about where Manga and Anime originated in a unique and fun way! We will learn from a representative from the Consulate General of Japan, Houston office! Try your hand at drawing your own manga at the end! Please call to register at 832-927-7890.

Tired of paying for eBooks? Did you know you can check out all the popular eBooks and Audiobooks from the library to your phone or device? If you would like to learn about our Digital Media Catalog and how to download eBooks and audiobooks, we are having a class on Tuesday, May 14 at 10:30 am at the Fairbanks Library meeting room.  All you need to bring is your mobile device and your Harris County Library Card. 

If you don't have a library card with Harris County Public Library, stop by the front desk before the class with proof of current address to get set up! Call 832-927-7890 for any questions.

Sensory Storytime on Saturday, May 11

Hello Parents and Caregivers of special needs children. Fairbanks Library will be starting a Sensory Storytime once month starting Saturday, May 11 at 2 pm. It is open to special needs children ages 3 to 7. Sensory Storytime is designed to engage kids through movement, music, preschool stories and sensory activity play. This program is ideal for children with sensory integration challenges or children who have autism spectrum disorders.

Workforce Solutions: Job Skills Seminar

Are you looking for a job and want to improve your resume and how to better communicate with employers? Workforce Solutions will be at the Fairbanks Library on Thursday, May 9th at 1:00 pm to help participants evaluate and practice effective communication in applications, resumes, basic introductions, and interviewing.  This seminar is free.  To register, please call 832-927-7890.

Fairbanks Library would like to extend an invitation to all families who care for special needs children and family members to come join us on Saturday, May 11 at 3 pm. Friends of the Fairbanks Library Book Sale

Hello Everyone! Our Friends of the Fairbanks Library will be holding a Book Sale here at the Fairbanks Library on Saturday, June 16 from 10 am to 3 pm in the meeting room.  They will have books of all genres, DVDs, music, audio books for sale.  All monies go toward programming at the Fairbanks Library. 

To volunteer to help the Friends set up on Friday, June 15 from 3-6 pm and/or take down on Saturday, June 15 from 3-6 pm, please call us at 713-466-4438 to sign up.  Any help would be appreciated!

Fairbanks Library at Jersey Village Farmer's Market

Hello Everyone.  Fairbanks Library will be at the Jersey Village Farmer's Market on Sunday, May 6 from 12-3 pm. Come visit us at our booth and make a gift for Mother's Day! We will also be giving away free books for teens, making library cards, and checking out books. 

The Jersey Village Farmer's Market will be at the Jersey Village Civic Center on 16327 Lakeview Dr. See you there!
