Basic Computer Security Class this Saturday!

computerOverwhelmed with computer terminology and don't know the difference between phishing and spamming? Want to beef up your knowledge about computer security? Look no further than your local library! This Saturday, June 15, at 11:00 AM, learn how to detect online threats and how to avoid them. Basic understanding of computers is recommended. Registration is recommended as space is limited, however, walk-ins are welcome.

Upcoming Fitness Programs for Adults at Kingwood Branch Library

YogsDon’t let the heat keep you from getting fit! Consider attending one of Kingwood Branch Library’s upcoming fitness programs. Both programs are presented by Kingwood Community Center and are low-impact.

Tuesday, June 11, 10:20 AM - 11:30 AM: Chair Yoga. Join Ms. Cathy for a low-impact yoga class that incorporates chairs for support. Mats will be provided or bring your own. Please wear comfortable attire and bring a water bottle.

Line DancingTuesday, June 18. 10:20 AM - 11:30 AM: Line Dancing Demonstration. Join Ms. Kay for a fun hour of line dancing! Be sure to wear comfortable attire.

Still looking for a few good volunteers

helpMany thanks to all who have inquired about volunteer opportunities at our branch! We are no longer seeking teen volunteers but still have openings for adults.

Kingwood Library is seeking 2 adult long-term volunteers to assist with daily library tasks. Primary task will be to pull patron requests, but will occasionally include shelving. Volunteer shifts are available Thursday and Friday from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

Kingwood Branch Library seeks Adult and Teen volunteers

Help WantedAs summer approaches, Kingwood Branch Library is seeking adult and teen volunteers to assist with daily library tasks. If you are interested in giving back to your community and local library, please consider volunteering for the library.

Teen volunteers are needed for Summer 2013 who can commit up to 2 hours a week for shelving. Teen volunteers can pick up an application from the First Floor Checkout desk. Teen volunteers must be at least 15 years old or entering high school. Applications must be submitted by Friday, May 24th. Please submit your application as soon as possible as space is limited.

Upcoming program: Houston Sightseeing Tips for Seniors

CityscapeSummer is right around the corner -- are you ready? Whether you're planning a "staycation,"  accommodating out-of-towners, or want to make the most of living in the Greater Houston area, we have the program for you!

On Tuesday, April 30, at 10:30 AM, Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau will share tips on touring Houston on a budget at Kingwood Branch Library. Program is targeted for individuals over the age of 50; all ages are welcome. This program will be in the Meeting Room located on the 1st Floor. No registration is required.
