Adult Crafternoon: Japanese Bookmark Dolls

Japanese Bookmark DollPlease join us this Friday, May 9th at 2:30 PM, for Adult Crafternoon as we honor Asian Pacific American Heritage Month by making Japanese Bookmark Dolls.

Adult Crafternoon meets monthly on the 2nd Friday at 2:30 PM. This program is free and open to ages 18 and older. No registration is required; all supplies are provided on a first come, first serve basis and limited to 8 participants. Materials are provided courtesy of FOLK.

Fun4Seniors May Excursions from Kingwood Branch Library

HCP4 Fun4SeniorsKingwood Branch Library is continuing its partnership with Harris County Precinct 4's Senior Adult Program to offer Fun4Seniors Excursion Trips for library customers in May 2014.

Participating is simple. Participants must be 50 years and better and must register for trips by calling 281-893-3726. All trips depart from and return to Kingwood Branch Library located at 4400 Bens View Lane, Kingwood TX 77339. Transportation is free and lunch is on your own. Some destinations require an admission fee. Please note trips may be cancelled due to low registration so be sure to register immediately!

Free Comic Book Day is May 3rd

Read at your libraryAttention all comic book and graphic novel enthusiasts -- Free Comic Book Day is almost here! Don't know about Free Comic Book Day? FCBD falls on the first Saturday of May where comic book stores nationwide give away FREE comic books to those who walk into their stores with no necessary purchases. How awesome is that?!

Altered Books Contest & Workshops

Altered Book Kingwood LibraryThis is friendly reminder that Kingwood Branch Library's Altered Books Contest is still going! This year we've extended the contest to June 30th and are offering workshops. So if you haven't started on your entry, there's still time!

Participating is simple. Books and contest forms are available for pickup in the 2nd Floor Teen Room. You can enter in one of three categories to be eligible for prizes: Family (children ages 11 and under and/or siblings, with parents), Teens (ages 12 to 18 without assistance from parents), or Adults (ages 19+).

April 8th Fun4Seniors Excursion Trip still open for attendees

The March trip to the George Ranch Historical Park was AMAZING and our April destinations are sure to be a hit, too! There is still time to register for next week's trip so don't wait to call!

Tuesday, April 8th, 8:45 AM - 3:45 PM: Heritage Village Museum. Enjoy a guided tour of this living pioneer museum with an all-you-can-eat home-style lunch at the Pickett House Restaurant. Cost is $18 per person includes entry and lunch.
