Hats! Hats! and Hats!

Some people wear hats; some people do not.  Hats come in all shapes and sizes and colors.  Some hats are worn for practical reasons; some are worn more as a fashion statement.  Whether you wear a hat or not, you can find many entertaining and engaging picture book stories that feature a hat(s).  To help you find some of those books, we have a new display at the library--"Hats! Celebrating Picture Books @ Your Library

During the month of November many libraries celebrate the wide variety of picture books available for young readers.  The Fairbanks Branch has created a new display just for picture books, "November Is Picture Book Month."  When you browse the display, you will find picture books with stories about brothers and sisters, all sorts of animals, space travel, kids who may really be frogs, and monsters that live under beds--just to name a few of

After School Story Time & Craft Program

You're invited!  Please join us for a special After School story time and craft program on Friday, October 31, at 4:00 PM in the library's meeting room.  We will share some seasonal stories along with a mask-making craft.  Refreshments will be provided as well.  So, end the week with some fun listening to stories and making a craft.  See you there!  Happy Reading!

Holiday Crafts @ Preschool Story Time

Please join us at Preschool Story Time next Tuesday, November 28, at 10:30 AM in the library meeting room for some extra special craft activities.  In addition to sharing some seasonal stories and some songs, you can make some fun crafts related to the season.  The crafts will include some masks you can make and wear.  So don't forget to circle the date on your calendar and we hope to see you there.  Happy Reading!

Scare Up Some Good Reads!

Bilingual Puppet Show Party

The Fairbanks Branch Library puppets invite you to an after-school bilingual puppet show party on Friday, October 10 at 4:00 PM.  As part of the library's celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the event not only features a bilingual puppet play but various craft activities and refreshments, too.  So, mark your calendar for the party and join the fun.  The puppets look forward to seeing you at the show.  Happy Reading!
