About the North Channel Branch
North Channel Branch Library opened in May 1994. It replaced the old Channelview and Woodforest Branches. North Channel Branch offers basic adult literacy programs and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes.
The Friends of the North Channel Library raised $200,000 toward the construction of the library. Each year they raise thousands of dollars through book sales and donations. They sponsor the Summer Reading Program, Adult and Family literacy programs and special events such the annual Kwanzaa celebration in addition to providing funds for books.
