Trees: Planting and Care (Includes Fruit Trees)

Fruit treesFall is the time to plant trees in Houston.  If you have ever thought that growing trees is challenging, or you would like to expand your gardening know-how, come to the next meeting of the Harris County Master Gardeners.  Their experts will walk you through planting, growing and caring for trees.

Adults - TGIF Programs invites you to join us on Friday, October 12 at 10:15 AM for the "Food Fiesta" event. Freeman staff will show the audience how to make delicious dishes from Mexico. This food demo is part of our celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.

This free event will require no registration. The refreshments prepared in this event will be provided by the Friends of Freeman Library.

A Taste of Hispanic & Mayan Culture!

Your Invited to a "Salsa Demo."  Salsas in Mexico are prepared to spice or season the dishes.  "Cebollas Moradas" is a seasoning dish of pickled red onions which are prepared to go with the cochinita Pibil.  This spice dish comes from the Mayan Peninsula.  Please join Hiro Vasguez and the Kingwood Branch Library on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 10 am for a taste of the Hispanic and Mayan culture.

Adults - TGIF Programs - Friday Film Series Continues 10/05

 

The TGIF Programs Friday Film Series continues on Friday, October 5 at 10:15 AM. We look forward to showing a 1954 Alfred Hitchcock crime thriller. This unrated film, which stars Ray Milland, Grace Kelly, and Robert Cummings, lasts 100 minutes.

The Friends of Freeman Library provide both the DVD and light refreshments for this event. This free program requires no registration.

Adult Crafts-To-Go Kits for September Are Here!

Adults - stop by the upstairs Reference Desk, to pick up an Adult Crafts-To-Go kit. This free kit will include all materials necessary as well as instructions. We're making a decorative, non-edible hard candy magnet this September. 

This project will be available to adult patrons while supplies last. Limit 1 kit/adult.
