Citizenship Month Family Program With “Faithful Paws”

Dogs, cats, and rabbits are beautiful and incredible animals, but did you know that they can work as therapy pets? Have you ever wondered what therapy pets do, or how a dog, cat, or rabbit can become a therapy pet? Faithful Paws Pet Therapy is an amazing organization specialized in training animals specifically designed to administer unconditional love and therapy to adults and children in nursing homes or hospitals. We invite families and people of all ages to visit us on Tuesday, November 21 @ 2:00pm to learn more about pet therapy from Faithful Paws. 

Free Medicare Learning Event

La Porte resident Steve Baker of BakerSeniors will give an informative and educational session about Medicare on Monday, November 13, 7 pm – 8:30 pm. Free and open to everyone. No registration required.

Community Craft – Thanksgiving and Fall November 16th@ 4 PM [7+]

Getting into the Thanksgiving turkey mood, the Parker Williams Branch will be hosting a Fall-Thanksgiving Community Craft on November 16th from 4PM to 5 PM in the Library Community Room.

The children will be making a stained glass turkey to show off to the relatives.

Adults will be making a festive, fall leaf bowl that could be your new centerpiece.   

Adults - Friday, 11/10 @ 2 PM - Color Me In - Relax & Have Fun with Butterflies for Citizenship Month!

In Honor of Houston's Citizenship Month, join us in some relaxing Butterfly Coloring for Adults. We will have coloring sheets to color and take home. Pencils and crayons will be available to use while here. (Feel free to to bring your own.) Supplies are provided by the Friends of Freeman Library.

TGIF Programs invites adults of all ages to join us on Friday, November 10 at 10:30 AM. Jake Trione, Certified Master Fitness Trainer & Functional Aging Specialist, of TriAffect Fitness, Health, and Wellness, will present "A New Aging Recipe For Maintaining Your Health and Happiness."

November Adult Crafts-To-Go Kits are Here!

Adults - please stop by the upstairs Reference Desk, to pick up an Adult Crafts-To-Go kit. This month's project is an autumn leaf decorative pin as seen here. This free kit will include all materials necessary as well as instructions. This project will be available to adult patrons while supplies last.
