Friends' Annual Meeting

Join us Monday, May 8th at 7pm for our Friends' Annual Meeting. The meeting will take place in our Earl Elliott Meeting Room and it is open to everyone! 

Our Annual meeting is a great way to interact with staff, volunteers, and our Friends of the Library. We will have a great guest speaker, Justice of the Peace for Precinct 4, Lincoln Goodwin. Our volunteers will also be honored during our Annual Meeting.

TGIF Programs Friday Film Series - This Friday!

The TGIF Programs Friday Film Series continues Friday at 10:15 AM! We look forward to showing, The Italian Job, the 2003 action crime film starring Mark Wahlberg, Edward Norton, and Charlize Theron.

Job FlyerDo you have kids ages between the ages of 16 and 24? Are you looking for an opportunity for them to obtain skills they will use for the rest of their professional lives (and get them out of the house)?

Workforce Solutions will be having a Job Readiness Workshop at the Galena Park Branch Library for those ages 16-24! Attendees will benefit from some resume and interview tips, as well as be informed of job opportunities in the area.

Computer Workshop - Word: Beginner

Join us tomorrow morning, April 22, for the Word: Beginner workshop. Come back next Saturday, April 29, for Word: Intermediate.

Workshops are free, and no registration is required. Current Microsoft software includes Office 2016 and Windows 10. Workshops are held in LRNC 105.

• 4/22, Word: Beginner, 9-11am
• 4/29, Word: Intermediate, 9-11am

Note: Please arrive 5-10 minutes early if you need to obtain an HCPL library card or need to activate your current HCPL library card number in the LSC computer login system.

National Volunteer Week

April 23rd-29th is National Volunteer Week. Here at the Barbara Bush Library, we thrive because our volunteers are so dedicated. The staff at the Barbara Bush Library collaborated to create this fabulous display honoring all of the volunteers that are here on a regular basis. During your next visit to the library, be sure and check it out! It's located on the first floor near the elevator. 

We'd like to thank all of our volunteers, past and present, as well as our Friends of the Library for going above and beyond on a daily basis to make our library such a wonderful place for our community!

Volunteers play an integral part in library services and help us keep the library running. They are a true asset to the community and we sincerely THANK them for everything they do.

TGIF Programs Tech Q&A Series Continues Friday!

Adults - Friday @ 10:30 AM - Tech Q&A -  Let's talk about the technology issues concerning you! People from Freeman Library will be here to address questions about desktops/laptops, smartphones, digital tablets, HCPL eMedia, and more.
