June Adult Crafts-To-Go Project!

Adults - stop by the upstairs Reference Desk, to pick up an Adult Crafts-To-Go kit. For this month, we're making a picture frame (see picture). This free kit will include all materials necessary as well as instructions. This project will be available to adult patrons while supplies last.

VFW Explains the Flag Retirement Ceremony: Saturday, June 10, 10:30 am. Bring your kids or grandkids and learn about the inspiring ceremony used to retire the United States flag! You are welcome to bring worn U. S. or Texas flag that needs to be retired and the VFW will include the flags in their upcoming retirement ceremony.

Knit/Crochet Circle for Adults: Tuesday, June 13, 10 am (Second & Fourth Tuesday of the month) -- Bring your current knit or crochet project for two hours of peaceful needlework.

Computer Class-One-on-One Computer Help: 10:30 am - 12:30 pm. Sign up for a 30-minute time slot for one-on-one computer help. Registration Required.

Life of a Merchant Marine Officer: Saturday, June 17, 10:30 am. Captain Carol Curtiss shares her interesting experiences as one of the first female officers in the Merchant Marines! She has some great stories!

Book Discussion- ‘My Name is Lucy Barton: A Novel’ by Elizabeth Strout: Monday, June 19, 6:30 pm-7:30 pm. Lucy Barton is recovering slowly from what should have been a simple operation. Her mother, to whom she has not spoken for many years, comes to see her. Gentle gossip about people from Lucy's childhood in Amgash, Illinois, seems to reconnect them, but just below the surface lies the tension and longing that have informed every aspect of Lucy's life: her escape from her troubled family, her desire to become a writer, her marriage, her love for her two daughters.

TGIF Programs Summer Film Festival Kicks Off Friday!

TGIF Programs invites adults of all ages to join us for our Summer Film Festival. We will be showing films on various dates during Summer 2017. This free event requires no registration.

We look forward to showing on Friday, June 2 at 10:15 AM High Society, the 1956 musical comedy, starring Bing Crosby, Grace Kelly, and Frank Sinatra.

SUMMER READING PROGRAM 2017

SRP 2017Our 2017 Summer Reading Program will begin next week, Monday, June 5th. This year our theme is Build a Better World, and North Channel will offer programming and fun for all ages. Stop by the front desk and pick up a calendar of events for the whole summer, or check the Online Calendar for all North Channel Events.
Yellow Calendar is for Children's Programming, recommended for 0 - 11 years old.
Orange Calendar is for Teen Programming, recommended for 12 - 18 years old.

Presented by Ben Ramirez, retired USMC, of Marvin R. Young, VFW Post 4395 in Pasadena. Attendees to the program may bring any worn U. S. or Texas flag that needs to be retired, and the flags will be taken to the Pasadena post for their upcoming retirement ceremony. Free! Bring the kids and grandkids! All ages welcome!
