April 27th is International Table Top Games Day!

To celebrate, we will have Tabletop Games available for friends and family to play on the library floor from 1:30 PM to 4 PM.

Our featured game will be Pandemic. 

Genealogy: FamilySearch Lab

Are you interested in tracing family members? Learn how to use the free FamilySearch database for your research. Join us at Kingwood Library on Tues 4/23 from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM in the Computer Lab. Self-register online or call 832-927-7830. 

International Festival

Join us Saturday, April 27th for our International Festival. Festivities will begin at 11am and end at 1pm. 

Pick up a boarding pass and passport at the children's desk and take a trip around the world without leaving the library.

Community members will represent various countries from around the world including China, Jamaica, Mexico, the Philippines, France, El Salvador, India and more. At 12 pm, we will have a special dance performance by the Houston Northwest Chinese Association in the EER.

Celebrate National Library Week with Us!

April 7-14 is National Library Week and we want you to celebrate with us! Here's what we have planned all next week and how you can join us in sharing your love for the library. 

We will have our #ilovemylibrary frame out at the customer service desk for you to come by and snap a photo showing your love for your library. Post it to social media and tag us! 

Leaving/Recovering from Abusive Relationships

Dorrisia-croppedA member of our community, motivational speaker Dorrisia Taylor, has volunteered to give a presentation on Saturday, April 13, at 10:30 am about abusive relationships. This, I Deserve! is a dynamic presentation designed to help people recognize signs of abuse in a relationship and to help both people currently in abusive relationships and survivors of abuse to recognize and use their inner-strength. This talk is appropriate for teens and for adults of all ages. It will cover a range of topics including identifying what you deserve, acknowledging your own worth and re-evaluating your perceptions.

Disrupt Aging! with AARP

AARP Disrupt AgingWednesday, April 10, 1-2 pm. Aging? Everyone’s doing it! And the way we are aging is changing, mostly for the better. Join AARP Houston to explore choices for living life on YOUR terms as you age. Disrupt Aging! challenges outdated beliefs and sparks new solutions. Let’s discuss how those of the 50-plus group celebrate life through creativity and re-imagining opportunities.

Adults Come & Pick Up Your April Crafts-To-Go Kit Today!

Adults - Stop by the upstairs Reference Desk, to pick up a Crafts-To-Go kit. This free kit will include all materials necessary as well as instructions. We’re making Carrot Pins (as seen here) this month. This project will be available to adult patrons while supplies last. 1 craft kit/adult present.

Come celebrate the 'language of love' with a special story time this Satruday, April 6th @ 2pm and explore the world of rhythm and rhyme. Family program appropriate for children of all ages. Meet in the Children's area. Stories read by Miss of Alivia of the L.O.L. Youth Book Club.
