Baby Playtime on Friday, January 13 at 10:00 AM

Babies and their grownups are invited to hang out on this Friday morning, January 13 at 10:00 am, for another fun Baby Playtime program!  This monthly program is recommended for babies from infants through 18 months old.   There are board books, manipulative toys, music, and bubbles!  To kick off a new year, we will have an art project where the children can put their handprint on a calendar page that will have the upcoming Baby Playtime dates already marked.  This program is free and no tickets are needed.   Thank you to the Friends of Freeman Library for contributing funds to buy many of the fun and colorful books and toys as well as an ample supply of bubbles for each session.

We love to see so many babies and their families attend our Lapsit program.

And we see that you love coming to the library too!

We want to give attention to all who come to our very special program.  And because of the steady increase of attendance, we will be adding a second Baby Storytime.

Our first program will be at the same time: Tuesdays at 10:00 am and the second one at 10:30 am.

These programs will be ticketed to alleviate any confusion.  Tickets can be picked up at the desk.

See you there!

Singing for Early Literacy at the Katherine Tyra @ Bear Creek Library

Early Literacy SingThe Association of Library Services to Children (ALSC) has identified five activities that caregivers can focus on when helping their child grow into a reader.  These activities are Read, Sing, Talk, Write and Play.  Check out our Early Literacy bulletin board this month to find songs that you can take with you and share with your child in the car, while out running errands or at home.  The ALSC Activities for Early Literacy bulletin board is located in our children’s area.

Singing is a fun and wonderful way to help your child learn new words and share a musical story. Caregivers can also add some silly hand motions to increase the fun.  These motions also help children develop important gross and fine motor skills as well.
