Fall Craft

Join us this Saturday from 10am to 12pm under the arbor for a fall craft. We will be making fall wreaths and turkeys.

Citizenship Month Family Program With “Faithful Paws”

Dogs, cats, and rabbits are beautiful and incredible animals, but did you know that they can work as therapy pets? Have you ever wondered what therapy pets do, or how a dog, cat, or rabbit can become a therapy pet? Faithful Paws Pet Therapy is an amazing organization specialized in training animals specifically designed to administer unconditional love and therapy to adults and children in nursing homes or hospitals. We invite families and people of all ages to visit us on Tuesday, November 21 @ 2:00pm to learn more about pet therapy from Faithful Paws. 

Make Your Own Super Hero Costume

All School Age Children are invited to make their own Super Hero Costume at the Fairbanks Library on Monday, November 13 at 5 pm. Space is limited. Call 713-466-4438 to register.

Community Craft – Thanksgiving and Fall November 16th@ 4 PM [7+]

Getting into the Thanksgiving turkey mood, the Parker Williams Branch will be hosting a Fall-Thanksgiving Community Craft on November 16th from 4PM to 5 PM in the Library Community Room.

The children will be making a stained glass turkey to show off to the relatives.

Adults will be making a festive, fall leaf bowl that could be your new centerpiece.   

Pajama Storytime on Thursday, November 9 @ 6 pm

 Looking for a fun evening outing for the young ones?  Join us this Thursday, November 9 at 6:00 pm for Pajama Storytime.   This storytime program features stories, songs, and a craft.  Children are welcome to wear their pajamas and slippers and bring a cuddly toy or blanket.   Tickets are needed for this program.  The tickets are free and available 30 minutes before the program.  Thank you to the Friends of Freeman Library for supporting this program over the years.

Houston Museum of Natural Science Native Americans Docent Presentation

Come and celebrate National Native American Heritage Month with Northwest Branch Library and the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Saturday, November 11th at 3:00 PM join a docent from the museum and discover the inventive and resourceful lifestyles of North America's earilest human residents.  Come to see real museum artifacts and specimens!  The 45-minute session is a hands-on interactive experience.  This program is for children 7-12 years old.  Space is limited, so get a free ticket at the desk 30 minutes before the program starts.

Cooks and Books--NEW!

Join the fun with our new book group for grades 3-5. For this meeting we are reading a Science Fiction/Fantasy book (your choice) and making an out-of-this-world snack!
