Community Craft – Bead Keychain or Bracelet [7+] - Thursday, September 20th at 4 PM

 

 

 

Join us at the Parker Williams Branch Library on September 20th at 4 PM in the Library Community Room for our Community Craft.

This month, we will be making pony bead bracelets and keychains. 

Pajama Storytime on Thursday, September 13th @ 6:00 pm

Looking for a fun outing for the family this Thursday evening?  Join us for Pajama Storytime at 6:00 pm on Thursday, September 13.   This storytime features stories, songs, and a neat craft.  Children are welcome to wear pajamas, slippers, and bring a stuffed animal or blanket to cuddle while listening to stories.   This storytime is designed for children 5 years and under, but the whole family is welcome to attend.  Tickets are given out at 5;30 pm.  Thank you to the Friends of Freeman LIbrary for supporting this program with craft supplies.

Rain, Rain, Go Away! (And I Mean It!)

 You should come to the library this week. Now, I know what you’re thinking. Despite all the rain, it really is worth it to come to the library. Yes, it’s wet and terrible, but it’s been raining for at least two weeks solid. The time for excuses has to end, even if it is hard to admit it.

To help you out, we have a lot of fun activities coming up at the library, which will give you the time to enjoy yourself in a free, indoor environment. That’s right. You get to be inside, you don’t have to pay anything, and our events are a guaranteed blast. Here’s some of them:

Wild Robot Escape Room!

 Join us on September 11, 2018 at 4:45 pm for an awesome time in our escape room. Our theme is WILD ROBOTS. Solve puzzles and riddles to escape. You do not want to miss it! 

A free ticket is required to attend. Please pick up your ticket 15 minutes prior to the start of the program at the Children’s information desk. If you have any questions please call us at 832-927-7800.

Magic: The Gathering Gameplay [8+] - Monday, September 17th from 6-7:30 PM

 

Magic: The Gathering is a dueling card game from Wizards of the Coast.

It incorporates strategy, mythical lore, and competitive-community play.

Join us on the first and third Mondays from 6PM -7:30PM and the second and forth Saturday from 4PM – 6PM on the Library Floor for a few hours of game play.

For those who would like to learn how to play, a staff member will be present to teach you.

Children's Weekly Run Down!

Steam Train

CHILDREN’S WEEKLY RUN-DOWN! Our school year programming continues at Full Steam Ahead! Our weekly STEAM activity is this Thursday @ 4 PM. 

Our Story times continue as normal! Be here for Toddler Time* on Tuesday @ 10 AM and @ 10:30 AM, Infant Lapsit Storytime* @ 11:15 AM on Tuesday and @ 11 AM on Thursday, and Preschool Storytime* on Wednesday @ 11 AM. We also have our Family Storytime presented on Saturday @ 10:30 where you can enjoy stories and a craft!

*Tickets required upon entry. Pick up your free ticket at the Children's Reference Desk before entering your story time. Tickets will be given to the first 30 children and their caregivers the day of the scheduled event.

Monday Movie Madness

See Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul, this Monday, September 10 at 4:30 pm at North Channel Branch on our big screen! Greg Heffley's adventures continue on a summer road trip with the family. Will he get to a gaming convention or be stuck at his relatives birthday party? This feature is Rated PG and is 1 hour and 31 min. in length.  Don't forget pillows, blankets, and refreshments...For more information please call the library at 832-927-5550.

New Family Story Time

Read & Play!

Thursdays @ 7pm

Introducing our new after-school family storytime, geared toward children ages 5 and up. This storytime is meant to engage children's interest in books while promoting positive play interaction.

Come read and play with Miss PJ! 

A free ticket is required and can be picked up 15 minutes prior to the storytime at the children's information desk. Children must be present to receive the ticket.
