Pokemon Club

Come to Pokemon Club Friday, March 24 @ 4:30 pm to trade cards, battle, play Pokemon Go, and make pokemon related crafts.  All kids in grades 2-5 are invited.

Books Alive! Week 2017 Ends on Friday, March 17th

  Friday is the last official day of Freeman Library's Books Alive! Week for 2017.  We've had a great turnout for fun programs such as Mondays visit from Marsha's Petting Zoo with a surprise visit from HEB's Buddy and Wednesday's face painting and balloon animals from Party Animals with a surprise superhero visitor.   For Friday, we finish off Books Alive! Week with sidewalk chalk on the Diana Lane side of the library from 2:30-3:30 pm.  If the rain shows up, we'll stay in the Children's Department with coloring sheets and fun with markers and stencils.    For tweens aged 8-12 years old, there will be tabletop games from 4:00-5:00 pm in the Children's Activity Space.  Tickets will be given out at 3:30 pm.   

Circles, Squares and Triangles in Toddler Time

shapesJoin us on Wednesday, March 15 at 10:15 AM or 11:00 AM as we continue to explore shapes.  What is your favorite shape? Come join the fun at Katherine Tyra @ Bear Creek Library.

Toddler Time is an early literacy program for children from 18 months to 3 years of age.  This is a ticketed program.  Free tickets and a craft are available in the children’s area of the library starting at 10:00 AM on the day of the program.

Preschool Storytime: It Is Not Easy Being Green

FrogJoin us for Preschool Storytime on Tuesday, March 14 at 10:15 AM at the Katherine Tyra @ Bear Creek branch library.  We will be reading about the color green then creating our own fun frog craft.  Preschool Storytime is geared towards children ages 3-5 years.

Remember, you need a free ticket to attend this program.  Tickets are available in our children’s area starting at 10:00 AM on the day of the program.

Aladdin & Princess Jasmine

Who flies on a a magic carpet and has a genie for a best buddy? Aladdin of course! Join us for a special Spring Break treat when Marionette Playhouse performs Aladdin and Princess Jasmine this Wednesday, March 15 at 2:30pm. in the Children's Area. Roald Dahl's #Imaginormous Challenge Writing Contest

Roald Dahl's #imaginormous Challenge is here!  Do you have a child between the ages of 5 and 12 with a wacky imagination and a love for writing?  This contest may be for them!
 
 Roald Dahl's stories all started out as just a few lines written in various idea books. Out of these books came the tales we all love, including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda, and  Fantastic Mr. Fox.
 

Community Craft – St. Patrick's Day March 17th @ 4:30-5:30 PM [9+]

 

Calling all future doctors to the Parker Williams Branch, we need to operate on some troubled leprechauns.

Join us on March 17th from 4:30 to 5:30 PM in the Library Community Room to create your own custom leprechaun Operation style game.

St. Patrick's Day Pasta Necklace

 Come join us on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 @ 3 pm for a fun St. Patrick's Day Necklace Craft made out of rigatoni pasta. All materials will be provided. Program is recommended for children ages 6 and up.

Cooking Corner

Wash your hands, roll up your sleeves and join the fun as we measure, mix and make some banana treats.

Time: 4:00-5:00 p.m.

For ages 5-11

 

Space is limited for story time and after school programs. Please arrive early to ensure your participation; free tickets or sign-in sheet will be available 30 minutes prior to programs or 15 minutes prior to 10 a.m. programs.
