CHILDREN’S WEEKLY RUN-DOWN! Happy Spring! Join us this week on Thursday the 6th of April @ 4 PM for our World Tour Book Club to explore different countries and their traditions and stories.

Our Story times continue as normal! Be here for Toddler Time** on Tuesday @ 10 AM and @ 10:30 AM, Preschool Storytime on Tuesday @ 2 PM, and Infant Lapsit Storytime @ 11:15 AM on Tuesday and @ 11 AM on Thursday. We also have our Family Storytime presented on Saturday @ 10:30 where you can enjoy stories and a craft!

**Tickets required upon entry. Pick up your free ticket at the Children's Reference Desk before entering your story time. Tickets will be given to the first 30 children and their caregivers the day of the scheduled event.

Monday Movie Madness

Find our what happens when Moana, a Polynesian cheiftan's daughter, takes on the Demigod Maui and his curse...Monday, April 3 at 4:30pm in the Public Meeting Room. Don't forget your pillows, blankets, light snacks and drinks! This feature is rated PG and is 1 hour and 47 minutes in length. April showers...bring fun programs at Freeman!

Looking for something free and fun to do with the children in April?  Join us for one of these programs:

Saturday, April 1 - Family Storytime at 11:00 am.  No tickets are needed for this storytime featuring books, songs, and fingerplays.  We normally have this program on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month.  We will be closed on Saturday, April 15, so April 1st will be the only Family Storytime this month.

Monday, April 3 - The Bi-Lingual Chinese/English Storytime is moving to a 6 pm timeslot starting on April 3.  This program features stories & songs in Chinese and English.  It includes a craft.  It is recommended to children 3 yrs. and older.  Tickets given out at 5:30 pm.

As #ProjectPeep continues here at the Barbara Bush Library, our duck egg hatched and joined our crew of chicks! His name is JJ Wattle and he's cute, fluffy, and just as fast as the one and only JJ Watt! 

Stop on by to see the chicks and JJ any time during our open hours. You can also view our livestreams by visiting the Harris County Public Library YouTube channel. Our peeps will be here for another week before heading back to the farm so stop on by before April 8th! 

Bi-Lingual Chinese/English Storytime moves to a new time this Monday, April 3 to 6 pm

The Bi-Lingual Chinese/English Storytime is moving to 6 pm on this Monday, April 3.  This fun storytime features stories, songs, and fingerplays in Chinese and English.  It also features a craft and the end of the program.  This program is recommended for children 3 yrs. and older.  Tickets are required.  They are free and available 30 minutes before the program.

Household Items Make Fun Crafts

Liquid RainbowBrowsing the shelves in the Children's Area of the library, we came across this really cool book, How to Make a Liquid Rainbow, by Lori Shores. During STEAM CAMP this past Monday we made different rainbows out of Skittles, Lollipops, and also made the Liquid Rainbow. All of the materials needed are everyday household items that you could find in your kitchen.

Join us for Family Storytime on Saturday, April 1 @ 11:00 am

Join us this Saturday, April 1 at 11:00 am for Family Storytime.  This fun program features stories and fingerplays.   It is held on the first and third Saturdays of the month.  This Saturday, we'll have some stories about ocean animals.   No tickets are needed for this program.  It lasts about 30 minutes and meets in the Children's Department.

Tween Time: Washi Projects

Create fun projects with us at Tween Time on Wednesday, March 29 at 4:30pm when we'll use Washi tape to make coasters and other items. We'll meet in the Public Meeting Room. This program is recommended for ages 9- 12 years. All materials are supplied.

Let's Go Fly a Kite

Join us on Friday, April 7 at 4:30 to build a simple kite and (weather permitting) go into the park to fly it!  All kids 5-10 are welcome to join us for the fun.  Call 713-466-4438 to reserve your spot today!  

Ready to Rhyme in Toddler Time at Katherine Tyra @ Bear Creek Library

Cow and MoonJoin us on Wednesday, March 29 at 10:15 AM or 11:00 AM as we spend some time playing with rhymes.  Come sing, read and explore with us at Toddler Time at the Katherine Tyra @ Bear Creek Library.

Toddler Time is an early literacy program for children from 18 months to 3 years of age.  This is a ticketed program.  Free tickets and a craft are available in the children’s area of the library starting at 10:00 AM on the day of the program.
