 Join us for our Annual End of the Summer Party! There may be a sighting of Bob the Builder. Entertainment provided by Incredible Events! Frozen treats will be served. For all ages. No pre-registration required. The program begins Thursday, August 3 at 2:00 pm.

Cookie Cutter Bird Feeders

Join us on Thursday, August 10, 2017 @ 3pm for this fun and easy craft!  Children between the ages of 6 and 12 will be provided all the materials to make a birdfeeder ornament in a variety of cookie cutter shapes!  Then they can take it home and hang it from any tree to attract and feed different types of birds!  No registration is required. CHILDREN’S WEEKLY RUN-DOWN!
Our Story times continue with their new schedule! Be here for Toddler Time** on Tuesday @ 10 AM and @ 10:30 AM, Infant Lapsit Storytime @ 11:15 AM on Tuesday and @ 11 AM on Thursday, and Preschool Storytime on Wednesday @ 11 AM. We also have our Family Storytime presented on Saturday @ 10:30 where you can enjoy stories and a craft!

**Tickets required upon entry. Pick up your free ticket at the Children's Reference Desk before entering your story time. Tickets will be given to the first 30 children and their caregivers the day of the scheduled event.

BUILD: A BETTER WORLD: Join us for the eighth meeting of our Maker Monday Club on Monday the 31st of July @ 2:15 PM. We will be building and creating a new and exciting craft out of recycled materials every week!

We will be having the final meeting of our Tween Game Day on Tuesday, the 1st of August@ 2 PM. Online registration required.

Our special summer program for the week will be on Thursday, the 3rd of August, @ 2:15 PM. See the amazing juggling talents of comedic juggler Claude Sims. A performance for all ages, it promises to be a show filled with tricks, stunts, and plenty of laughs.

We will also have our ninth Block Party this Friday the 4th of August @ 2:15 PM!

This week will also hold the fourth meeting of the Family Chess Club on Saturday, the 5th of August @ 1 PM. Whether you are learning, expanding your knowledge, or just want to have fun, come by our Family Chess Club!

Harry Potter Party

Everyone is welcome at our Harry Potter Party tomorrow, Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 2pm.  Stop by the library at 1pm to pick up your ticket and then head over to the Lion's Club across the parking lot at 2pm for crafts, games, and snacks!

Celebrate your summer reading success with our celebration for all readers including games, crafts, snacks and fun for all.

New for “Tweens!”

Alvin HoStarting Wednesday, August 2, we are introducing a new book club for “tweens” ages 10-14. On the first Wednesday of each month, from 4:30-5:30 pm, we’ll get together to talk about a selected book, learn about new books and authors, play games, have a snack and more! On August 2, we will talk about “Alvin Ho, Allergic to Girls, School, and Other Scary Things.” Don't worry if you haven't read the book; come anyway.

Meet the Houston Astros' mascot Orbit on Thursday, July 27 at 2:30 & 3:30 pm

   Houston Astros fans can show their team spirit this Thursday, July 27 by coming out to see the team mascot, Orbit, as he does shows at 2:30 & 3:30 pm.  Orbit uses humor and music to demonstrate the importance of summer reading for children.  This program is recommended for children 3 years and older.    Tickets are required.  They are free and available starting 30 minutes before each session.   Thank you to the Friends of Freeman Library for supporting this fun program and many others throughout the year.  Freeman Library opens at 1 pm on Thursdays.

Pokemon in the Park

PokemonJoin us in the Hedwig Village Park for an hour of Pokemon Go. We'll provide the WiFi, you catch the Pokemon! Feel free to bring other Pokemon games to share with your fellow trainers.

Make sure to bring your special Spring Branch-Memorial Library Pokemon-in-the-Park badge from June to enter for a prize drawing!

No registration required.
