BB Word Crafters Field Trip

Baldwin Boettcher’s Word Crafter writing group will be going on a field trip this Saturday, April 14 to Copperfield Books 4th Annual Local Author Fair.  There will be many area authors there, snacks, and a raffle.  We would like to invite you to meet us there.  It will be from 10:30 am to 4 pm.   Meeting local authors will be a wonderful inspiration for other writers, and we hope you will join us!  If you have any further questions you can call, Copperfield Books at 832-761-5559.

Wednesday 4-11-18 Meetings for BB

Today Baldwin Boettcher @ Lone Star College North Harris will have two meetings.  Spin a Yarn @ 2pm and Word Crafters @ 5:30 pm.  They both will take place on the third floor of the library building in the “makerspace” area.  Hope you all can join us!

Adults - Friday, 4/13 @ 10:30 AM - Fab Food Demo!

Adults - please join TGIF Programs on Friday, April 13 at 10:30 AM for the "Fab Food Demo" event. Freeman staff will show the audience how to make delicious dishes. After the demo, attendees will be able to enjoy the prepared food.

This free event will require no registration. The refreshments prepared in this event will be provided by the Friends of Freeman Library.

Visit Us at Katy Safety Fest!

Helicopters, ambulances, fire trucks, and more!  What are you doing this Saturday?  Here's an idea for fun; visit booth for the Maud Marks Library as we participate in this year's Katy Area Safety Fest at Typhoon Texas!  Come meet your local first responders.  Tour an ambulance and a fire truck.  Learn various tips and tricks to keep you and your family safer.  Have your child bounce in the inflatable kid zone.  Have your child participate in the kids "junior firefighter challenge".  Best of all, visit our booth, get a library card and check out the many seminars, classes, and events available though your local public library.

Join us a Typhoon Texas this Saturday, April 14 from 10 AM to 2 PM.  As you are checking out all the entertainment and food, make sure you stop by and say, "Hello" to your local friendly librarians.

Baldwin Boettcher Pop Up Library

Monday, April 9 @ 3:30 pm, we will have our Pop up Library again.  It will be at the Cypress Trails United Methodist Church.  The address is 22801 Aldine Westfield Road.   There will be books and movies for all ages to browse.  We will have a story time and craft for the little ones.  If you have items to return bring them with you, we will be happy to get them checked in for you.   It has been wonderful seeing so many of you that used to come to the branch regularly.  We have missed you all, so please come join us!

AARP Tax Aide: Almost Tax Day

Tax day is fast approaching, and AARP is still providing free tax aide to the public.   They will continue to be at St. James Catholic Church 22800 Aldine Westfield Rd in Spring, TX  77737 until Monday, April 16.  They are there, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm.  The service is first come first serve, so no appointment is necessary. 
Records to bring with you:
Picture ID for you and your spouse Social Security/ ITIN cards for all person on tax return.
• Tax info – W-2, form 1099, 1098, etc…
• Prior year’s tax return, if available.
• Documentation for itemized deductions p medical, charitable, property taxes, etc.

Adults - April Crafts-To-Go Kits Are Here!

Adults - stop by the upstairs Reference Desk to pick up an Adult Crafts-To-Go kit. This free kit will include all materials necessary as well as instructions. We're making a rustic bead bracelet this month (pictured on the right). This project will be available to adult patrons while supplies last.

Kingwood Pop-Up Continues in April!

The Kingwood Pop-up will be continuing through April! In addidtion to our regular storytimes we will also have Adult Crafternoons this month (Online registration required as space is limited)! Join us for Adult Crafternoons, Lapsit Storytime, Toddler Storytime and Family Storytime on the following dates:

Tuesday, April 3: Lapsit Story Time @ 11 AM and Family Story Time @ 4 PM.
Wednesday, April 4: Toddler Time @ 11 AM, Adult Crafternoon @ 1 PM, and Family Story Time @ 4 PM.

Tuesday, April 17: Lapsit Story Time @ 11 AM and Family Story Time @ 4 PM.

Spin-a-Yarn will meet at 2pm in the Makerspace area on the third floor of the library building of Lone Star College – North Harris.  Word Crafters will meet in the same area later in the day at 5:30 pm.  If you like to create, knit, crochet, chat, and write then come to both.  If you have any further questions, please call Carrie at 281-765-7726.   We hope to see you today!
