Teen Escape Room

Join us for an awesome, zombie-themed breakout room--if you dare! Use your wits to solve the puzzles and escape the room! Teens MUST register for this event online or by calling 281.376.4610.

Make a Difference in Your Community!

Volunteer instructors are needed to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, citizenship, and adult literacy in our community.  Training and materials are provided along with flexible scheduling. Make a difference in your community today. South Houston Library Community Blood Drive

The South Houston Public Library in conjunction with the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center will be hosting a community blood drive on Monday, July 10, 2017 from 2pm to 6:30 pm. Come donate blood and help save lives!  The Mobile Coach from the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center will be present for anyone ages 16 & up who are interested in donating blood.  Please ensure to eat a hearty meal before donating and bring your I.D.  To sign up over the phone or for more information please contact Clara Lopez at (713) 941-2385 or sign up online at www.giveblood.org using sponsor code: S607.  No appointment needed! * Free Beach Towel for All Donors*

Wednesday Summer Programs in July

Wednesdays at 2:30 PM the Parker Williams Branch Library will be hosting a variety of different programs in our Library Community Room throughout the nine week Summer Reading Program.

Mick Corely – Build a Better World - July 5th @ 2:30 PM [7+]Join us in the Library Community Room at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, July 5th for the comedy, magic, and life lessons from Mick Corely that inspire us to Build a Better World.

Baytown Wetlands Wagon - July 12th @ 2:30 PM [5+]
Just beyond our local streets lies a vast network of wetlands. Join us in the Library Community Room at 2:30 PM on July 12th to learn about the wetland ecosystem and even meet some of the animals that live there thanks to the naturalists from the Eddie V. Gray Wetlands Center.

Adults - Friday 6/30 @ 10:15 AM - TGIF Programs Summer Film Festival continues with Event #2! We will show Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, the 1939 film starring James Stewart as a naive man is appointed to fill a vacancy in the United States Senate. Jean Arthur and Claude Rains also star.

Community Swap Shop July 13th, 2017 at 1:30 pm - Kids Clothes, Toys, and Games

KIDS CLOTHES, TOYS AND GAMES!
Mid-summer swap out - supplies for babies and kids of all ages. Refresh the kids’ toys, games and puzzles.
Reset the wardrobe for growing bodies. Bring your outgrown but still usable items and go home with something
different.

Put out your items where others can shop. Selection will be based on what others bring; first-come, first-serve and condition is as-is. Item donations are encouraged, but not required for participation. Please collect only for personal use. Items remaining at the end of the swap will be given free to those in need, donated to community non-profits, or recycled, is deemed appropriate.

Free Lunch for kids 18 and under.
In conjunction with the Houston Food Bank, North Channel serves free lunch on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 1-2 PM. Kids don't have to be enrolled in school or a program to get a meal. No ID is required.
