Summer Science in June at the Parker Williams Branch Library

Tuesday, June 19th at 10:30 PM – Science Explorers – Liquid Measurement [5+]


Looking for some science for your little guys and gals? Science Explorers is a science programs for kids 5 and up to explore basic scientific principles. Come on down to the Parker Williams Branch Library on Tuesday, June 19th at 10:30 AM. This month, we will be exploring the volume of water through liquid measurements.

Another Busy Monday for Baldwin Boettcher Library

Today will be another busy day for The Little Blue Library!  We had story time in the garden at 10:30 am.  Today’s subject was “Gardens”.  Next week we will be reading about “snakes”!  Spin-a-Yarn will be at 3 pm in the pole barn on the west side of Mercer, and at 6 pm, we will have ESL with Cindy in the pole barn as well.  For more information, call Cindy at 832-927-5480.  We hope you come see what we have going on for Baldwin Boettcher Library at Mercer Gardens.  We would love to see you here!

Family Fun Night at the Parker Williams Branch Library

Want to do something fun with your family but you get home late? Don’t fret! The Parker Williams Branch Library has you covered! Join us in the Library Community Room at 7 PM on a variety of Wednesdays throughout the summer so you don’t miss out on the summer fun.

Wednesday, June 13th at 7 PM – Family Fun Night – Clear Lake Music Lessons Inc. Rock Band [8+] 

This week, we will have a rockin’ good time with a set from the Clear Lake Music Lessons Inc. Rock Band. Get ready to rock, just please keep your socks on.

Every Wednesday in the Library Community Room at 2:30 PM throughout the summer, the Parker Williams Branch Library will be having a special guest put together either a fun show or an amazing learning experience. 

Wednesday, June 13th at 2:30 PM – Program Summer – Thomas “Snakeman” Davis Show [6+]
Join us this week for the Thomas “Snakeman” Davis show to learn all about the different kinds of snakes from Texas and other parts of the world. If you ever wanted to pet a snake, this is the show for you. 

Wednesday, June 20th at 2:30 PM – Program Summer – Houston Ballet – Dance to Learn Week 1 [7+]

Community Craft – Paint-A-Pot [7+] - Friday, June 8th at 4 PM

Summer is the time of year where everyone wants to be outside. Join us inside in the Library Community Room at 4 PM on Friday, June 8th at 4 PM at the Parker Williams Branch to paint your very own pot for you to enjoy outside.   

Adults - Stop By & Pick Up Your June Crafts-To-Go Kit!

Adults - stop by the upstairs Reference Desk, to pick up an Adult Crafts-To-Go kit. This month, we'll be making beaded key rings (see picture). This free kit will include all materials necessary as well as instructions. This project will be available to adult patrons while supplies last.

Volunteer instructors are needed to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, citizenship, and adult literacy in our community.  Training and materials are provided along with flexible scheduling. Make a difference in your community today. Knowledge Exchange every Fridays

This is Isobel and the 1000th hat that she has crocheted for M.D. Anderson Cancer Center since joining the Barbara Bush Library knitting and crocheting group: Knowledge Exchange.

All ages are welcome to this knitting, crocheting, and conversation group. Bring your own projects or make lap blankets for veterans and chemo caps for M.D. Anderson patients. Knowledge Exchange happens every Friday from 12:30pm-2:30pm in our Earl Elliott Meeting Room.

Friday, 6/1 @ 10:15 AM - TGIF Programs - Summer Film Fest Event #1

TGIF Programs invites adults of all ages to join us for our Summer Film Fest. We will be showing films on various dates during Summer 2018. This free event requires no registration.

Memorial Day Holiday

This coming Monday, May 28, 2018, the Barbara Bush Branch Library will be closed in observance of Memorial Day. We will resume our normal business hours on May 29 at 10 am.
