Spin a Yarn and Word Crafters Meet Wednesdays

Forecast today is wet and cold so come by Lone Star College – North Harris where Baldwin Boettcher’s Spin-a-Yarn and Word Crafters will be meeting.  Spin-a-Yarn will meet at 2 pm on the third floor of the library building in the makerspace area.  Word Crafters will meet at 5:30 pm in the same place.  Grab your latest project, an umbrella, and come on by.   We would love to see you here!

Popping Up at Cypress Trails Methodist Church

Today is Monday, February 19th, and Baldwin Boettcher Library will be popping up at The Cypress Trails United Methodist Church.  It will start at 3:30 pm and end at 6 pm.  Today we will have a story time followed by a craft for the kids.  There will be some books to browse for all ages.  Afterwards, from 6 pm to 7:30 pm we will have ESL with Cindy Groover.  So come check it out.  We would love to see you there! 

Welcome Victoria at Lone Star North Harris

We are pleased to announce that we have a new face here at Lone Star College – North Harris where Baldwin Boettcher is currently located.  Victoria has been with Harris County for over 3 years.  You know her as Baldwin Boettcher’s Young Adult Librarian, but she does much more than just YA activities. Victoria also does children’s programming and outreach into the local community.  Along with planning story times, she coordinates our Pop-Up Library at Cypress Trails United Methodist Church on Mondays.

Reading= Hope X Change

It's Black History Month and the Maud Marks Library always likes to celebrate with style!  Join us this Saturday beginning at 1 PM as we discover why Reading= Hope X Change.  We will start the day off with readings, background music, traditional African American foods, and crafts.  Crafts include African masks, Black Panther masks, Wrinkle in Time Clocks, African American Bingo, Brain Teasers, and more!  Then, at 3 PM, join us as trombonist Kendall Moore and his jazz quartet invoke the Harlem Renaissance and the jazz craze that swept the world.

We'll see you for all the fun this Saturday at 1 PM!

A Novel Idea - March

A Novel Idea just wrapped on a successful mystery and we are looking forward to our March session. If you have never attended a book club or are looking to join one, our book club is here for you! We are a small group but the discussion is always lively. Join us on March 14th at 11:30am for our next book discussion. We will be reading Where the Light Gets In by Kimberly Williams-Paisley. Spin-a-Yarn and Word Crafters Meet Wednesdays
