Congrats Nerissa!

One of our customers, Nerissa, recently visited the Barbara Bush Library to share some good news with us. She passed her Citizenship test and is now a US Citizen! Congrats Nerissa! 

Nerissa previously attended our Citizenship classes with Gaspar and found the information provided very helpful. She's beyond excited about her new achievement!

Harris County Animal Shelter Mobile Adoption [All Ages] - Saturday, July 21st from 11:30-3:30 PM

The Harris County Animal Shelter will be here with their Mobile Adoption unit and a truck load of dogs.

Come on down to the Parker Williams Branch on July 21st from 11 AM to 2 PM to see if you meet your next fur-baby!

Indian Dance Performance and Workshop, July 17th!

 We are going to have an exciting event tomorrow, July 17, at the Barbara Bush Library! We will be having an Indian Dance performance and workshop. Children will learn basic dance techniques, hear stories, and get a chance to see items that relate to India. This program is free of charge and open to children of all ages, no ticket required. It will take place across the street at the Cypress Creek Christian Church community center, and will begin at 3pm. 

The Big Things The Little Blue Library Has Going On This Week

It is another big and busy week for the Little Blue Library at Mercer Botanic Gardens.  Monday is Story Time in the Gardens at 10:30 am.  The subject this week is flowers.  There will be Kids Café again this week Monday through Friday from noon to 1 pm.   Wednesday the kids program will be a story from Africa about a lonely girl who magically transforms cooking gourds into her friends.  This is for ages 5 to 12 years old.  On Thursday, we will have our continuation of 7 continents 7 instruments.  This week is Antarctica, and this one is all about nature.  Create your own instrument from what you find around you!  Then, last but not least, we will have our Family Friday where you can play Pokémon Go and Geocaching with the whole family from 9 am to 3 pm.

Blood Drive - Friday July 13th

We are once again partnering up with the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center and hosting a Blood Drive on Friday, July 13th! The Donor Coach will be parked in the parking lot. Everyone that attempts to donate will receive a FREE beach towel!

Word Crafters Wednesday for BB @ North Harris

The Baldwin Boettcher Word Crafters will meet today, Wednesday, July 11 @ 5 pm in the library building of Lone Star College North Harris. Family Fun Nights in July

Want to do something fun with your family but you get home late? Don’t fret! The Parker Williams Branch Library has you covered! Join us in the Library Community Room at 7 PM on a variety of Wednesdays throughout the summer so you don’t miss out on the summer fun. 

Wednesday, July 11th at 7 PM – Family Fun Night – Water Safety with the US Coast Guard Auxiliary [5+]
For those who don’t want to rock the boat, we will be having a family water safety presentation by the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. 

This Week at The Little Blue Library

We have another eventful week planned for you at The Little Blue Library.  Monday is Story Time in the Gardens @ 10:30 am.  The subject this week will be bugs.   Kids Café’ will be going on from noon to 1 pm Monday through Friday this week.  Wednesday is our kids program at 10:30 am.  This week it will be the Houston Ballet.  Join them in a fun morning of dancing, and learning how our bodies move.  Thursday is teen day and a continuation of our 7 continents 7 instruments.  This week will be Australia.  We will be making a fun to say and play instrument called the Didgeridoo.  Friday is our fun filled family day.  We will be playing Pokémon Go and Geocaching from 9 am to 3 pm.  To see what we have coming up next week please check our events
