OverDrive App Update on iOS Mobile Devices

Please be aware of an OverDrive app update on Tuesday, May 28, that will affect ALL Apple iOS devices running the OverDrive app. After downloading the OverDrive app update the associated Adobe ID will deauthrorize on any iOS mobile device running the app.

Girl Scout Express (GSE) Session 5 Launched!

The Clear Lake City - County Freeman Branch Library continues its “Girl Scout Express!” (GSE) program that's designed for Girl Scouts and Girl Scout Leaders with busy schedules. On Thursday, May 16^th, written guides for Girl Scout Journeys will be available via Google Drive. Session 5 will be posted online on Google Drive for the following Girl Scout Journeys:

- 5 Flowers, 4 Stories, 3 Cheers for Animals! (Daisy Scouts)
- A World of Girls (Brownie Scouts) (Sessions 5 & 6)
- aMUSE (Junior Scouts)
- MEdia (Cadette Scouts) (Sessions 5, 6, & 7)
- Mission: Sisterhood! (Senior Scouts)
- BLISS (Ambassador Scouts)

TGIF Programs looks forward to hosting "eReader Round Up" this Friday morning at 10:30 AM. If you have an Amazon Kindle, Barnes & Noble Nook, an Apple product, or another device, please bring it with you to the program. We will be sharing tips and tricks for connecting to and downloading eMedia via the HCPL Digital Media Catalog powered by Overdrive.

The OverDrives, They Are A-Changin'

Just when you thought you had figured out exactly how to check eBooks out to your Digital Device from our Digital Media Catalog, our primary eBook distributor, OverDrive has gone and changed things on us.

In the next few weeks, you will find that the OverDrive interface has had a bit of a makeover - one that they purport will make the eBook checkout process easier, but one that may also, on first encounter, cause the anxiety of figuring this whole eBook thing out to return.

But do not worry, for HCPL is here to help! The first place to go for help with this "Next Generation" of OverDrive is with this handy guide provided by our very helpful digital media support staff, fully equipped with this informative video provided by OverDrive.

Here at Northwest, we'll also be holding our Tech Tutors sessions every Saturday during January and February from 10 am to noon. Bring in your device, and we'll help guide you through the eBook checkout process, hopefully in the least confusing way. We're here to help!
