TabletsDid you know that in addition to the vast collection of physical books and CDs, the Harris County Public Library has books, audiobooks, magazines, music and movies available online?  If you have not yet checked out an item using your gadget, the library staff at Spring Branch-Memorial will be offering a help session on Monday, March 21st, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. 

Bring your devices, passwords, questions, and desire to learn!

December 2015 Computer Classes at Kingwood Branch Library

The Kingwood Branch Library offers free computer and device classes throughout the month for adults. See below for classes being offered for December 2015.

All computer classes require registration, except for Open Labs. For more information or to register for a class, please call 281-360-6804, visit the Adult Services Desk on the 2nd floor, or self-register online by visiting our Events Calendar.

Please note: classes with asterisks (**) require a prerequisite.

Save the date: Library eBooks and eAudiobooks Open Lab for All Devices on Friday, October 30th

Smartphone teenHCPL offers great resources to meet your digital media needs. On Friday, October 30th stop by Kingwood Branch Library between 1:30 PM and 5:30 PM to learn how to borrow eBooks, eAudiobooks, and other media from OverDrive, Hoopla, and OneClick Digital. This come-and-go program is free and open to adults. No registration is required. Be sure to bring your library card, device, and device cables.

TGIF Programs Hosts Tech Q&A This Friday Morning

Please join TGIF Programs in the upstairs Training Lab this Friday at 10:30 AM for our Technology Question and Answer Series. This will be a great time to ask Freeman Library staff and other attendees about computers, smartphones, devices, and eContent from the HCPL Digital Media Catalog.

Digital Media Catalog (OverDrive) Update

digital media catalogIf you download eBooks, audio and more from the HCPL Digital Media Catalog (OverDrive), be aware that the notification hold time is now four days. What does that mean exactly? Once you receive the email notification that a title you have on hold (request) is available, you now have four days to log in to your account and borrow/checkout the title.
