Join us on Wednesday, January 10th at 11:00am for an all-ages storytime with our new mascots Owlbotron and Northtale! Explore the inside of a super library on wheels and check out great new books. Please join us for the last event of TGIF Programs Winter Film Festival on Friday. We will show a 1949 romantic comedy starring Spencer Tracy, Katharine Hepburn, and Judy Holliday. The film lasts 101 minutes.

Refreshments and DVD are provided by the Friends of Freeman Library. After Event #4, the DVD will be added to the HCPL Collection and available for checkout. This free program requires no registration.

Adults - Saturday, 1/6 @ 11:00 AM - Meditation for New Beginnings, Part 1!

In this busy, fast-paced world, peace seems like an elusive commodity. Please join Daya Sharma a longtime meditator, for this engaging workshop. He has been giving programs on meditation for many years. Daya will offer effective, techniques that can reduce stress, enhance relaxation, promote inner growth and improve our physical mental and spiritual health. He will also include a short meditation sitting. Begin the New Year with meditation and join Daya as he invites you on this journey.

The Parker Williams Branch Library is providing a variety of different programs in addition to our regular 10:30 AM Wednesday Storytime and 10:30 AM Thursday Toddler Time:

Tuesday, January 2 from 1-4 PM – Extended Magic: The Gathering Gameplay [8+]


Magic: The Gathering is a dueling card game from Wizards of the Coast. It incorporates strategy, mythical lore, and competitive-community play.

Join us on January 2nd on the Library Floor for an extended hours of game play from 1-4 PM. For those who would like to learn how to play, a staff member will be present to teach you.
