November is National Novel Writing Month! In support of NaNoWriMo, the library will host write-ins for aspiring authors. Bring your laptop, journal, or any other writing tools you need to work on your novel!

Terra Nova Children’s Home: Monday, November 6, 7:00 pm. The Terra Nova Children’s Home in Zambia was founded by La Porte residents Tom and Amy Morrow in 2006. Learn about their experiences in creating this home for orphaned children. Free, no registration required. Open to all ages.

Medicare Learning Event: Monday, November 13, 7:00 pm. La Porte resident Steve Baker of BakerSeniors will give an informative and educational program about Medicare. Clear up the confusion!  Free and open to everyone. No registration required.

Knitting Circle for Adults: Tuesday, November 14 & 28, 10:00 am. Bring your current project. Every second and fourth Tuesday of the month. Free. No registration required.

International Observe the Moon Night

Join us on Thursday, November 2nd from 6-7:30pm at the Cypress Creek Christian Church and Community Center for International Observe the Moon Night. 

We will have a guest speaker, and you'll get to learn about the moon. We've also got some hands on activities for you and you'll get a chance to catch up with fellow library patrons and staff!

We look forward to showing Bride of Frankenstein, the 1935 classic horror film starring Boris Karloff, Elsa Lanchester, and Colin Clive. This unrated film lasts 75 minutes.

Due to early voting at the North Channel Branch Library, there will only be ONE Toddler Time for the next 3 weeks.

We will meet in the Children's Area of the Library, near the Family Learning Space. 
Toddler Time is every Tuesday at the library for children 18 months - 3 years old, and their parents/caregivers.
