Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

We at the Evelyn Meador Branch Library recognize and love the diversity of our community. It’s a wonderful thing to have people of different cultures and backgrounds associate and trade ideas. We love this aspect for our community and want to do everything we can to foster this. As such, the library is excited to be spending the next month celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. This wonderful celebration will allow us to learn more about Hispanic cultures, and gain a greater appreciation of the great things they have. Here are a few of the things that you can do at the library to gain a better appreciation of Hispanic culture.

Rain, Rain, Go Away! (And I Mean It!)

You should come to the library this week. Now, I know what you’re thinking. Despite all the rain, it really is worth it to come to the library. Yes, it’s wet and terrible, but it’s been raining for at least two weeks solid. The time for excuses has to end, even if it is hard to admit it.

To help you out, we have a lot of fun activities coming up at the library, which will give you the time to enjoy yourself in a free, indoor environment. That’s right. You get to be inside, you don’t have to pay anything, and our events are a guaranteed blast. Here’s some of them:

Wild Robot Escape Room!

Join us on September 11, 2018 at 4:45 pm for an awesome time in our escape room. Our theme is WILD ROBOTS. Solve puzzles and riddles to escape. You do not want to miss it!

A free ticket is required to attend. Please pick up your ticket 15 minutes prior to the start of the program at the Children’s information desk. If you have any questions please call us at 832-927-7800.
