Tomorrow @ 4 PM - Puzzle Me Out - an Adult Jigsaw Puzzle Program!

Come and build some new worlds with Jigsaw Puzzles! This is one of two Jigsaw Puzzle programs for the Adult Summer Reading Program. We will have jigsaw puzzles in various sizes available, along with some puzzle mats for the larger sizes. If you do not finish a puzzle in June, you can do so in July. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Job Search Skills Seminars: Making Connections - Thursday @ 1:30

Adults - The Job Search Skills Seminars continue Thursday @ 1:30 with the "Making Connections" workshop. 80% of jobs do not get advertised! Learn techniques to access the "hidden" job market, leverage social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn), and make effective phone calls. Please call or visit to register for this free workshop. Supported by Friends of Freeman.

Passport Services

We will be having staff from the Harris County District Clerk's office in next week processing U.S. Passports. Walk ins are welcome, but if you'd like to make an appointment, please contact them at 713.755.1674.

Passport Services will be held during the following days and times in our Earl Elliott Meeting Room:

Tuesday, June 20th from 1pm-7pm
Wednesday, June 21st from 1pm-5pm
Thursday, June 22nd from 1pm-7pm

Grand Opening of the Creative Learning Space

Monday, June 5 at 1:30 pm we held the grand opening of the Creative Learning Space. The puzzles, toys, puppets and all the furnishings are a generous gift from The Friends of the La Porte Library to our community's families. It is our hope that our families will find it a comfortable place to enjoy reading and playing with their children.  Pictured left to right are Garrette Smith, Deputy Director of HCPL, Myra Wilson, Branch Manager of La Porte Library and Megan Harper, President of the Friends. 

Adults - The CHRISTUS Healthy Living Mobile Clinics Visit next Friday Morning!

Adults - The CHRISTUS Healthy Living Mobile Clinics will visit Freeman Library next Friday - June 16, 2017 (10 AM - 1 PM). Their free health screenings include:

  • blood pressure check,
  • glucose testing,
  • cholesterol (lipid panel)

Fasting is preferred.
