Valentine Craft at North Channel

Valentine CraftValentine's Day is one week away and we're celebrating with an afterschool craft on Wednesday, February 8th. You will get to make your own take home bag that you can use to collect all your special Valentines. (All materials will be provided.)

Grade School Valentine's Party

Hear Ye! Hear Ye! A Proclamation from the Children's Librarian to remind you of the Royal Reception for grades K-5 this Friday at 4:30 pm. There will be fractured fairy tales, dancing, food, and crafts. Call the library at 713-466-4438 to reserve your spot.

Teen Maker Space: Operation Valentine

 Apply your knowledge of simple electric circuits to create a game that can be played and eaten! Think of the old fashion operation game. Ages 10-17. Supplies are limited. This event will be held Wednesday, February 8 at 4:00 pm.

Royal Reception

Hear Ye!  Hear Ye!  All Kings, Queens, Princes and Princess are formally invited to a Valentine Celebration filled with fractured fairy-tales, crafts, dancing and refreshments.  This celebration is for grade school aged kids and space is limited.  Call 713-466-4438 to reserve your space on Friday, February 10 at 4:30 pm.

Community Craft – Valentine’s Day Craft February 9th @ 3:30-5:30 PM [6+]

    With Valentine’s day just around the corner, you can make a card for that special someone.

 

   Join us on February 9th from 3:30 to 5:30 PM in the Library Community Room to create a card that expresses all the feels.

Community Craft – Chinese New Year Dragon January 27th @ 3-5 PM [6+]

 

     To celebrate Chinese New Year, our Community Craft project will be creating a Dragon Puppet. The Dragon Dance is a traditional part of the Chinese New Year festival celebration.

     Join us on January 27th from 3 to 5 PM in the Library Community Room to create your own dragon and train it to dance at home.

 

 

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Hours

mlkWe will be closed on Monday, January 16, 2016, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.  

We will reopen on Tuesday, January 17, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.

Holiday Hours


Maud Marks Library will close at 5 PM on December 30, 2016.  In observance of the New Year we will remain closed until 10 AM on Tuesday January 3, 2017. You can still download books and movies through our eBooks and More page. And for a look into our upcoming programs check our Calendar. Please have a safe weekend and and a Happy New Year! We'll see you again in 2017.

We will close early on Friday, December 30, at 5:00 pm.

We will be closed Saturday, December 31, through Monday, January 2.

We will reopen on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 10:00 am.

Christmas Holiday Hours!

Merry Christmas an Happy Holidays!  We hope everyone has a safe and fun Holiday weekend!  We will be closed December 23  through December 26 and open on Tuesday, December 27 at 10 am.
