DIY Book Pumpkin

Fall has arrived, and this week the temperature will finally be falling into the 70s! If you are looking for a creative way to decorate your home this season, we invite you to join us on Monday, October 16 @ 1:30 pm for a DIY Book Pumpkin Craft for adults. In this simple craft, we will be creating beautiful pumpkins out of old donated paperback books.  

All materials will be provided. Some materials provided courtesy of the Friends of the South Houston Library. For more information, please contact the library at 832-927-5530.

at the Jacinto City Gym.

Activities will include hay rides, games, pumpkin decorating contest, costume contest and free outdoor movie at dusk.  Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Community Celebration – The Moon Festival September 30th @ 11:30 AM [5+]

 

 

Join us for our community celebration of the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival.

On Saturday, September 30th we will be begin sharing the story of the Moon King at 11:30 AM in the Library Community Room.

The festivities will continue with a craft and some refreshments sponsored by the Friends of the Parker Williams Branch Library.

Please note: we will close at 5 PM on Monday, July 3 and remain closed on Tuesday, July 4 in honor of Independence Day. We will resume normal business hours Wednesday, July 5.

Library Closed on Independence Day

It hardly seems possible that we are halfway through the Summer Reading Program, but July is just around the corner and, with it, Independence Day. In observance of the holiday, the library will remain open regular hours this Friday and Saturday, but will close early at 5:00 pm this coming Monday, July 3 and remain closed through Tuesday, July 4. The library will reopen for business Wednesday, July 5 at 8:00 am.

However you might be celebrating this summer, we wish you a safe and happy Fourth of July!

The Library Will Be Closed July 4, 2017

In observance of Independence Day Maud Marks Library will be closing at 5 PM on Monday, July 3, 2017 and will remain closed on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. We will return on Wednesday, July 5th, 2017 with normal business hours. Our eMedia is always available should you want something to read, listen to or watch.

Closed in Observance of Memorial Day

The Northwest Branch Library will be closed Monday, May 29th in observance  of Memorial Day. The library will resume normal operating hours at 10:00a am on Tuesday, May 30th. Memorial Day commemorates the men and women who died while in the military service.   A national moment of remembrance takes place at 3:00 p.m. local time.

Each Memorial Day we honor the brave men and women who have fallen while serving in the United States Armed Forces. In observance of the holiday, the library will remain open regular hours Friday and Saturday, but will be closed this coming Monday, May 29. The library will reopen for business Tuesday, May 30 at 8:00 am.

However you might be celebrating, we wish you a safe Memorial Day, and extend gratitude to those who have given their lives in service to their country.
