Some Changes in Our Hours for This Week

In observance of the Easter holiday we've got a few changes in our hours for this week. On Thursday 3/29  we close at 5 PM and won't re-open until 1 PM on Monday, April 2nd.

While our buildings might be closed we are always open online at hcpl.net/ehcpl. Ebooks, audiobooks, movies and magazines are all available for digital checkout. 

Easter Egg Hunt Today @ 4:30 PM

The Friends of the South Houston Branch Library will be hosting an Easter Egg Hunt. We invite you to bring your family and enjoy this fun event today, March 26, at 4:30 PM. Don’t forget your basket for all the eggs filled with treasures that you will find!

Toddler Time Easter Egg Hunt

easter eggJoin us for a fun, outdoor Easter Egg Hunt after Toddler Time this week.
Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at 11 AM bring your baskets and see how many eggs you can find. Toddler Time is recommended for ages 18 months - 3 years old.
In observance of the upcoming Easter Holiday, the library will close early at 5 PM on Thursday, March 29th, and remain closed thru Sunday, April 1st.
We will resume normal business hours on Monday, April 2nd at 1 PM.

** We will also have an Easter Egg Hunt following Baby Time on Thursday, March 29th. Baby Time is recommended for ages 0-18 months.

Easter Holiday Hours

The Northwest Branch Library Easter Holiday hours are:

Thursday, March 29th, close at 5:00pm
Friday, March 30th, closed
Saturday, March 31st, closed

The Northwest Branch Library will resume normal operating hours on Monday, April 2nd. The library will be open for business at 1:00pm. In the meantime, materials can be returned to this location via the after hours drop box, which is located to the left of the entrance doors. Customers will have access to to Overdrive, databases, and the other electronic resources during the holiday closure. Have a happy and safe Easter holiday. 

Emoji Easter Eggs

The South Houston Branch Library invites children ages 5 to 12 to the library on Monday to decorate their very own Emoji Easter Eggs! Join us March 19 at 4:30 pm and decorate yellow Easter Eggs with the emoji face of your choice. All materials will be provided.

Easter Egg Wreath

Adults are invited to join us in creating a beautiful wreath that is sure to brighten up any door or wall. Join us this upcoming Monday, March 5, at 1:30 PM and use colorful Easter Eggs, grass, ribbon, and other Spring materials to create your very own Easter Egg Wreath. We will have fun using our creativity, and best of all, this wreath can be saved for future use! All materials will be provided by the library.

Royal Heart Valentine Storytime

Here Ye! Here Ye! All Lords and Ladies between the ages of 5-10 are invited to our Royal Hearts Storytime celebrating Valentine's Day on Friday, February 9 at 4:30 pm. The bard will be sharing stories of royalty and will be followed by dancing and crafting. Snacks will also be provided. If you are attending the reception, please contact the royal librarians at 713-466-4438 to make your reservation

Make A Valentine's Day Card [All Ages] - Monday, February 12 to Wednesday, February 14

 

Make your own Valentine's Day card for your sweetheart in the Library.

Just behind the Reference Desk will be supplies to make your V-Day cards. 

Supplies will be available during our open hours from February 12th through February 14th. 

Lunar New Year Celebration [All Ages] - Saturday, February 10 from 11:30 AM - 1 PM

The Parker Williams Branch Library in partnership with the Parker Williams Friends of the Library and our Vietnamese Language Learning Community is proud to host our annual Lunar New Year Celebration.

On February 10th from 11:30 to 1 PM, we will be having a variety of activities including folklore of how the Lunar New Year came about, games, a craft, and a variety of food.

Please join us as we celebrate the beginning of the Year of the Dog!

Monday, January 15: Closed for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.


Katy will be closed in observance of MLK Day.
